Looks sweet. Finally a Ruger rimfire 22lr to talk about other than a 10/22.

Bought one a few days ago, sitting in DROS hell now. Have their 6.5 and their 5.56 as well. Was told by Ruger rep I should have one of the first to sold here in Mexifornia.

As with my other two the optics-bipods-rings will cost twice the price of the rifle.

same with CDNN, noticed it includes a 15 rd mag - will have to workaround.

I hope they come out with a 17 HMR and or 17 WSM that would be sweet.

Edit: According to Ruger website, there are two model 8400 and 8401. The 8400 comes with 15 rd BX15 magazine, and the 8401 model comes with two 10 rd BX10 magazines , the web site also indicates that the rifle will take the 10/22 magazines.
it sounds liked buy buy buy to me , oops, I meant pre-pre-pre-order.
(darn it, the Hennry Golden boy has to wait for another year ).

Shot mine this past weekend, epic nice.

Very happy, I have thirty 10/22 mags , so we had a blast breaking it in.

                        You won’t regret buying one.

How do you like it? I'm thinking of getting one. I have 1983 vintage 10/22 that is still stock. I can hit steel with it at 100 yards, iron sights, no scope.

                              Thanks,

                              David

...My son put one of these new Ruger Precision Rimfires on pre-order earlier today. When it arrives, I'll do a review and comparison to my Savage FV-SR. I'm a bit of a rimfire fanatic and think it's awesome that I'll be able to get my hands on the new Ruger without having to cough up the cash for my own. This is my Savage...

Why didn't Ruger just come out with a 77/22 with a bull barrel and an oversize bolt knob and call it a day?

They already have a traditional looking bolt action rimfire.
