    The new Ruger Precision Rimfire

    ...Check this out...

...My son put one of these new Ruger Precision Rimfires on pre-order earlier today. When it arrives, I'll do a review and comparison to my Savage FV-SR. I'm a bit of a rimfire fanatic and think it's awesome that I'll be able to get my hands on the new Ruger without having to cough up the cash for my own. This is my Savage...

Pretty cool OP. Price is attractive.

Bolt-action to cycle sub-sonic rounds and takes 10/22 mags.

I really like the stock, rail hand guard and pistol grip.

Hopefully factory trigger is crisp and light.

Can't wait to check one of these out. Looks like fun. Reminds me of that great Magpul advertising video for their X-22 stock (for 10/22s) where they say "Your fun gun just got serious."

Can someone explain to me the purpose of the feature that apparently allows one to change the bolt throw? I am guessing the idea is that if you are mainly a 22 shooter, just leave it set for the shorter throw customarily found on a 22LR. But if you are using this as a training gun, or you also frequently shoot centerfire bolt rifles, then set it to the longer throw so the feel/action of this 22 will be more comparable to your centerfire rifle. Is that it?

Is there still a 10 round limit for a rim fire bolt action rifle?

Yes, rimfire tube magazines are the only exemption that I know of.
