Mag release is the Tandemkross Titan.

Madbeans88, most of the recent matches I've heard of are central California. There might be local clubs around who hold matches but I'm trying to find them as well. I usually go with a friend to BLM and set up a bunch of steel to shoot.

            Nicest Buckmark I've ever seen.

Just re-read your original post, you mentioned sending it for a paint job, what are you thinking? I kinda like the subtle look of it now.

I don't know how much you spend on your "greatest pistol" , if the total is more than 1K, then have you ever think to get a Volquartsen Scorpion pistol.
Oops, are you CA resident ? if yes , then forget what I just wrote.

Was thinking about the same paint scheme as the Burnt Bronze 1911 I built a couple of years ago, but still a bit undecided... Function test first definitely.

A beautiful weapon definitely, and if this was a free State, I would certainly consider getting it. However, my assembled pistol even with the dot sight and DROS and tax is less than $1K. The Volquartsen will be closer to $1500 after all said and done. Buck Mark is great platform to build on.

Those are Hogue grips. Feels great. Was thinking about using Bill Striplin's grip adapters (https://striplincustom.com/products/...-grip-adapters) so I can use my 1911 grip panels, but these feel pretty good though slightly on the thin side. If I feel like changing to fatter panels I'll switch to the grip adapters, since I can also use thin 1911 panels when my wife, and friend's kids want to shoot it. Regardless, these Hogue G-10s also made the mag release "feel" more positive and consistent, since the original rubber grips would flex a bit when the mag release spring pushes against it, making the "feel" change every time.

Can you tell me more about the Burris FF? What mount and how much improvement accuracy wise.

I have a Burris FF that is just sitting in my safe. That is unacceptable.

My Burris sat in my drawers for a long while also; actually almost sold it a couple of times. It sat in my drawers because I was mainly shooting for accuracy using either pistols or rifles, while the red dots main application is more for fast acquisition and speed shooting. That was a long way of saying, you don't use a red dot to improve your accuracy on target, but rather your speed in getting ON the target. Hope that made sense.

I can't use red dot sights to do bullseye-type shooting; I can focus on the front iron sight a lot easier since it doesn't move around like the dot.

Other than that, the battery life is great on the FF3. The different intensity settings are useful, and the adjustments hold (but I mainly used it on my .223 AR before).

With that said, I'm getting a C-more for another build.

                                Yes, makes complete sense. Thanks.

                                But what about the mount?
