What scope for Kidd 10/22?

Having been down this road more times than I care to admit heres my suggestions.

Your max zoom should be 10x minimum. I really like yhe SWFA scopes for a cheeaper build even on a 10/22. Second choice would be either a Nikon or Leupold in some thing like a 4-14x zoom. Adjustable Objective is also great to have.

You can get by with a 3x-9x but for your application now is not the time to pinch pennies. 10x isnt really that much when trying to shoot small groups with a 22lr even at 50yds.

So I went ahead and picked up a Kidd 10/22 with a 16.5in Lightweight barrel with the .5 in at 50 guarantee. It's all Kidd and I have high hopes for the accuracy potential. The rifle will be used for punching paper from 25-100 yards and killing tiny critters from 25-150 yards max.

I need help picking the right scope. I'm hoping to keep it around $200 or less. I was thinking about the Leupold VX-1 2-7x33, but now think that might not be enough magnification to kill squirrels out at 100 and make tiny little groups at 50.

I have the Leupold on mine and really like it for .22 rifle

Sig Sauer Whiskey 3, 3-9. Cabela's had them on sale for $119. I put one on my 243 and its been a great scope, made in the Phillipines like Vortex.

Mueller Eraticator.

The illuminated reticle is smaller than the bullet hole. Make a hole, put the dot in the hole, repeat as necessary.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The S&B 5-25 didn't make the cut.

I think I'm going to go with the Mueller in some Warne QD rings. I like the AO and the target turrets along with the price. The 8-32x44 should let me kill flies at 100 yards, and I'll probably pick up a separate scope if the 8 power minimum is too much for useful hunting.

Mostly, I'm just looking forward to finally getting this thing out to the range. It's been a long time since I've spent some serious time with a .22.

I was going to suggest the Mueller APV. I have their Eradicator on my Howa 1500 .223 Rem, and it is just an excellent scope. Thus, I chose the Mueller APV for my 10/22 LVT, and it has proven to be just as good, though it lacks the target dot the Eraticator has. Haven't taken it out to 100 yds, yet, but eventually I will. I second saving up and putting a quality scope even if some think it's overkill; I run an F1 on mine

Sometimes, I'll shoot off a staple (and always hit it) as I wait for the next firing period because my targets are all shot up.

It's really cool being able to see your .22lr round travel and land on paper when shooting at 100 yards.

NICE! The problem is when you get deeper into the four figures, there's a lot of great choices. But the good news is that it's hard to get a bad scope at that point.

Unfortunately, I have to wait until my last kid finishes school before I can afford much on the higher end.

Same here. My wife wouldn't bat an eye at me buying anything firearms related. But she also knows my priorities (self-regulating).

I own some pretty good glass though...but for my cameras. Quality's not cheap.

im with QV on this...i just sold my kidd but i have a GEN2 PST on my CZ and while its a great scope for a 22 the CZ will be topped with a kahles 624i or a minox ZP5 next year.

I used SWFA SS 12X42 for one of my KIDD rifles. Now decided to go with something more powerful. At least 15 but even more like 20. Unfortunately can't find fixed scope with this power.

Hmmm...

My Kidd Classic Lightweight gets released from jail today. Was planning on using a Nikon 2-7x p-rimfire since I didn't want to buy another scope dedicated to this rifle, but maybe I'll need to. No killing of little creatures...just hitting paper and steel 25-100 yards.

Problem is, I have a 3 unused scopes for 3 rimfire rifles (CZ 455 22LR, CZ 455 22 WMR, and Kidd 22LR). It's like playing scope/rifle dating game. Which scope should I mount on which rifle?

Vortex Diamondback 4-16x42, Millett DMS 1-6x, and Nikon 2-7x.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and buy another Diamondback 4-16x42, but that still leaves so-so choices for the third rifle. Ugh.

Guess I could always try to sell the Millet and Nikon and use the funds for a third scope.

Maybe a Leupold Rifleman 4-12X40? I have one mounted on a CZ 527 in 7.62x39. I've used it on the CZ 455 22LR in the past. Only $264 from Amazon.
