The Dicks flyer in our local paper always has ammo on sale but they never have it in stock and they don't do rain checks on ammo.
They send me all kinds of emails claiming big sales on ammo but when you go to there online ad it doesn't show any sale prices.
There name is very appropriate in my opinion.

        E Mich,,,

You were right,, I remember seeing something on the news about a sporting goods store in Roseville going up in smoke.
I just went and got the local news clip of Dick's going up in flames.

The one in Pleasant Hill is okay, but the one in Hayward... you'd have better luck looking for a bottle of Jack Daniels in Riyadh than you'd have looking for an employee to help you at that place.

I'm not a fan of that store at all but they do often have shotgun ammo for $4.95/box (various brands) and often send me coupons for $5-$10 off so it works out well enough.

That being said, the santa rosa store has a few guys that work the gun counter that are into it so its much better than the petaluma store which NEVER has anyone at the counter.

They still have a ton of 22lr.

I think the reason for is that there's apparently no one who's actually allowed to sell it to you there.

How do they get away doing this?

                  I don't think I'll shop there anymore.
No but this week they have the M22 1k rds for $49.

Dick's has a "Buy one get one 50% off" deal on ammo, but it is only good for regular priced ammo. Here's the catch. They put all their normal, low cost, ammo on sale: 9mm, 22LR, 40S&W, 45ACP etc. Bunch of Dick's

I just bought a firearm there two days ago. They have an 11 day waiting period and the dros process was complicated to say the least. However, they were the only place that carry the firearm I was looking for. I'm not ordering it online and paying an extra $100 for an FFL transfer. The best part about the whole visit was when the clerk tried to tell me that Mossberg had discontinued the 500 series and the Maverick was their new shotgun.

They do have the silly 11 day wait and it seems like you have to fill out the paper work 3 times. But sometimes they do have a good deal.

Once at I-Hop they told my wife that they no longer carried the spear pickles. We went the next week and another waitress said that they were out last week.

The one in Fremont left me totally unimpressed. Big 5 has way better guns than these guys. Seems like dicks is geared towards hunters, which I am not. Seemed really expensive also, their prices on cleaning supplies was like twice that of midway.

I had a bad experience with Big 5 when I was in the market for my 10/22. Dicks in Dublin was more than accommodating. They price matched and had me out in 20 minutes. True they seem to be lacking in handgun and .22LR ammo but the service was better than Big 5 by far.

I was told by one of the employees at Dicks that the have it in the back during a sale and limit how much they allow each day to be sold so everyone has a chance to get it on sale. I worked swing shift for decades, never get in on most ammo sales because I never had time to go. I have always felt, first come first serve should be the norm.
