About 7 years ago, I bought two 10/22s, one for my son and one for myself. My son's worked well, mine had many issues. I ended up replacing a few things with after-market parts to get mine to function without FTE and stovepipes.

A couple of years later I built my son his dream 10/22 starting with a third party receiver and after-market parts. It was a dream to shoot so I built one for me using a 50th anniversary edition receiver and a stock Ruger barrel as the only Ruger parts. Mine shoots almost as well as my son's.

I just cannot justify buying a stock 10/22 ever again. The quality is not there and I would rather pay to build my own and get the level of quality I want.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

I tend to like older production guns anyway---Ruger 10-22s made in the past are really cleaner made rifles---period! That said, a friend bought a standard carbine in stainless about three years back and it functions 100% so it's up to the original gun---it's good or it's not...

Well got her home, changed out the sling swivels to sling studs, mounted my 9-13 harris bipod(I shoot prone),DNZ medium height game reaper scope mount and Nikon Prostaff EFR 3-9x40 AO Scope.Just need to clean the barrel and clean and lube the action and she is ready to go.The pictures do not do the hammer forged barrel justice,it is beautiful in real life.

Sweet! I bought a stainless 50th anniversary 10/22 a couple years back. Mine looks a lot like yours. Picked up the Hogue overmolded stock and Ruger 16" tactical target barrel from a buddy, added a Hornet Black Max Custom trigger, tuffer buffer, bolt release mod, and Nikon Rimfire 3-9x40 scope. Weighs a ton but I love that thing!

I've only takin mine out shooting once so far.Great gun,I put 200 rounds threw it without a single issue.I ran into a gun a alittle later and struck up a conversation. His son was shooting a standard carbin 10/22.I then let his son put another 100 or so rounds threw it,no issues.

We need a range report now, please. Thinking about one of those Target models myself (despite the aforementioned warnings).

All I can tell you is it shot good. The day I took it out I was trying to sight in my Ruger precision .308. I used the .22 while letting my .308 cool down.I was out at 100 yards.I got the .22 sighted in,then from there I just played around with it.I burned though the 200 rounds pretty fast.I never got the precision sighted in.I bought a laser bore sight for it.When it cools down alittle I'll take the 2 out again and try to get you a better report.

Glad it all worked out with the new target model.
Will be interested to hear how it functions with different brands of .22

My older 10/22 was having feed issues, even with the 10 rounders but after cleaning the mag and adjusting their spring tension they are reliable. Still have issues with the Ruger BX25s being too wobbly (causing feeding at odd angles) so I ordered a KIDD magazine plunger and higher tension spring yesterday to hopefully resolve that issue. Also have the volquartsen extractor and extractor spring already installed.

Its a bolt action, right? Just take the bolt out and look down the barrel. That should get you on the paper, no need for a laser bore sight.

Tried that kinda hard on that rifle.Stock has to be folded out of the way to remove the bolt and see down the bore.I did finally get it sighted in.Ive got bad luck with rifles,I bought 3 this year and all 3 had problems. It shoots 27" to the left and uses all my adjustment on my scope to zero.It is at ruger right now I'm hoping to get a call in the morning on what's going on with it.

Sorry no updates on the 10/22 target it's just hanging out in the safe.
