+1 for the Vortex Venom!!!A variable power optic on a pistol seems like it would be more weight than you want to hold at arms length and, as another poster pointed out, I would expect eye-relief to be an issue.
My preference for pistols are iron sights or a reflex sight (I use a Vortex Venom on my 22 target pistol, and I like it, but there are a ton of choices.)All Rifles MatterComment

Actually not. Occluded eye aiming is one of the main reasons red dot sights were first developed. You see best with both eyes open and your brain merges the images from both eyes so you see the dot on the target. It's pretty hard to do the same with iron sights, since you're focusing on the front sight (if done properly), rather than looking at the target with a dot superimposed on it.Comment
