Just jailed a GSG 1911-22! Picked up a couple extra mags too, Looking forward to putting her through her paces in 10 days when I get it home. Anybody shot one without cleaning up the rails, did it run ok? Should I clean them up prior to shooting it?

Got one in January, cleaned and oiled it and it has run perfectly every time. Ran 200 mini mags first, then several hundred auto match. Runs on any good quality high speed ammo without skipping a beat.
Very happy with it and has renewed my interest in shooting rimfire handguns again.1A-2A=-1AComment

Mine ran like a turd at first. I cleaned up the rails and that solved pretty much all of the function issues. Still occasionally get a failure to feed when the mag is loaded to capacity but overall functions pretty well.Comment

Mine were fine except the rear sights had to be replaced. They became loose

Cleaned up the extra mags I bought, will do the same with the last mag that is still with the gun when I pick it up Tuesday...
Been reading/watching reviews and by all accounts the factory finish(read paint) is worthless and short-lived... anyone know if the zinc alloy slide and frame can handle a baked on cerakote or similar coating? You can go all out nuts with your GSG, I did.
I sold it a few months ago but here's a picture of my old GSG. 4 mag dumps at 10 yards.
