Rimfire PRS match

My club is considering starting a PRS match but 22LR, and I'm one of those helping with the concept and stage writing.

I've never been a 22LR guy, and I don't want to write stages to require massive $$ investment. The positions will involve rooftop/barricades/hostage-shots, so that is challenging enough as is. I want to make the match accessible to "grandpa's 22 and a Chinese scope". Equipment will always factor in, but I don't want ppl to feel like they need to run around with TacSol/Volquarsens to even hit the target.

I've read typical accuracy out of a stock 10/22 with bulk ammo is 2MOA? I'm thinking a majority of the targets to be 3/4MOA for positional shots, and with 2MOA shots thrown in for stable positions. We do have a 200yd bay, and I want to put a 2MOA shot at 200yd and make that a staple of the match as the "extra credit" point: you miss, you get -1; you hit, you get 2; if you choose not to shoot it, you get 0. I also want to make one stage sitting/standing centric to promote those skills.

What do you guys think, too hard? Have a dollar limited "production class" like in PRS?

Well, if you really mean 3/4MOA for the majority of the targets, it will be too hard. Did you mean 3 to 4 MOA?

3 or 4 MOA.
0.75MOA is pretty tough lol.

3 to 4 MOA targets would be great higher hit rates. My stock Savage MKII does about 1 to 2 at 100 yards.

The issue with bulk ammo is most of it is super sonic and it goes trans sonic quickly, making unstable at distance. I personally would advise shooters use 22 match ammo, and try not to handicap the field to those shooters.

60gr shot fine in my Ruger mkIII.

No I doubt it...ours will be different every match just like our center fire matches and you won't get a match description until the day or night before the match.

I know the directors have bought a Caldwell moving target set up..there will be a KYL rack and I've heard but not confirmed a golf ball at 110yds.
I'm going to suggest an ax head with a small target on either side as a bonus stage.

I'd suggest you get ideas from club members for stages and go from there...you want it to be challenging for the better shooters but easy enough to keep newer shooters coming back.

I'd stick to 40g ammo and start with wolf match target and match extra both will shoot tiny groups out of my Kidd and my CZ455 and both are still responsible priced.
