83200 Rounds

4 years * 52 weeks * 400 rounds = 83200 rounds down the pipe with my Buckmark Camper.

The barrel wore out?

If I clean the barrel I can get maybe 20 rounds through it before it starts key-holing again.

I put a Tactical Solutions barrel on it and no more keyholes.
But now it's too light.
Maybe I'll put a scope on it to get the weight back.

Contact Browning for a new barrel. Midwest Gun Works might have one also.
My Buck Mark is too light too with the Tac Sol, so I put an optic on it, much more stable.

Pft. Junk. My Glock has 250,000 flawless rounds through it and I never cleaned it once and it always shoots in the 10 or 9 ring only!

80,000 rounds times a nickel is about $4,000.

Buy a new gun! At your shooting rate they don't last a life time.

03fatboy: I have several .22's but the Buckmark was out on just about every range-run. (It's also my wife's favorite shooter.)

golfish, Spyder, Relativist and ol'shooter: I get the impression that it's too soon? Not enough rounds to wear it out yet?

To be fair, this was my second firearm and in the beginning I was
aggressively cleaning it from the muzzle end (my bad) twice a week.

But Browning's customer service is indeed very excellent...

readysetgo: I'm working on pictures but haven't been able to get the rifling to appear. Lighting a bore is difficult.

From bad cleaning practices to bad ammo (Some Browning "Performance") This particular gun has taken a beating.
The bad ammo cracked the bolt-face and weakened the extractor.
Browning sent me a nice check for my troubles.

83200 rds, no problem , I will catch up to 83200 rds on my Buckmark, but not in 4 years though

I've never shot out a barrel, I'm also not so lucky as to shoot so much ammo. I'm just curious towards the key holing, did the original factory barrel shoot just fine for the first twenty rounds? Is that how a barrel that is worn out normally performs - okay then quickly key holing as the barrel is fouled? I'd first guess the ammo as the culprit.
