Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

just a suggestion...before you order a bunch of parts and build a 10/22 you might want to take a look on the kidd website and a few others and compare buy and build prices..you might be surprised...i was.
i was looking at building one from parts...about $700 bucks...i ended up buying a kidd super grade barreled action set up how i want it...$846 bucks shipped...both prices are minus a stock.
if your dead set on building one this is a pretty reasonable priced place for parts http://www.tacticalinc.com/
and just an FYI i have a buddy that just built one from all new parts with a fedderson barrel and another buddy that went with the kidd classic barreled action both in victor Co titan stocks and the kidd shoots noticeable more accurate and consistent...they both shot the same ammo side by side last sunday at the range and both were being shot for the first time.Comment

Grabagun had the BX trigger on sale a month or so back - I think it was $54 shipped. I had a basic 10/22 that I intend to use as a beater critter-getter, and it had the standard horrible trigger. The BX was an excellent upgrade for this purpose - half the price of the VQ parts set, very quick installation, and perfect for a hunting rifle.
My squirrel sniper 10/22 has a better trigger for bench work, but it's too light a trigger and too heavy a gun to forego a bench - and the wife has claimed it as hers.Comment

Excellent post IMHO.. The intended use of the rifle is important in the selection process. For example, I like targets, small targets, so I got the Kidd two stage. Expensive but worth every cent. If I was going squirrel hunting, I would have looked elsewhere, just like the post above points out.Grabagun had the BX trigger on sale a month or so back - I think it was $54 shipped.
