I was thinking about upgrading the trigger in my 10/22 and was looking at the bx trigger, but today i went into turners and saw the volquartsen trigger pack for $149. Twice as much as ive seen the bx trigger for but the price seemed right to me. I guess turners is closing these trigger packs out.

Was thinking about the bx trigger pack

The BX isn't very popular with forum users. That being said, I have one, but I also use it in an HTA 90/22 Bullpup kit. I only needed a trigger to lighten the pull up a bit because the bullpup trigger bar adds to the pull.
The Volquartsen, Kidd, Brimstone all good from what I have read. I have never used any of the others. I strongly considered Brimstone from a cost/performance perspective. I settled on the BX right after it launched because I wanted a drop in trigger. At the time, Brimstone did not have trigger packs for sale (they do now). -
I used the Volquartsen target hammer kit $30 odd bucks, transformed the trigger, nice little project too!

I don't think these things are selling that well for Ruger. I see them on sale, and in closeouts everywhere. If they were so great, you would think they would offer them as an upgrade on their bull barreled target rifles, instead of just a add on, aftermarket item.
The average Ruger 10/22 buyer isn't going to invest what amounts to over 2/3rds of the price of the rifle, for an add on trigger that isn't that great to begin with. (Ruger 10/22's can be had on sale, for around $200 at many big box stores like Wal-Mart, Dick's, Academy, and Big 5).If common sense was so common, why don't liberals possess any?Comment

^^^This...the Kidd is not just the best. ^^^
Unlike AR triggers where there is a plethora of features; the .22lr market is pretty much go big or go home with no middle ground
If you're skilled get the parts kit for $105+/- and build it yourself

I'm happy with the 2 1/2# trigger pull I got from the BX. Very smooth.Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. Robert J. Hanlon

Lot's of opinions for sure. Suggest checking rimfirecentral.com for some in depth reviews.
The Ruger trigger group is great for a first trigger upgrade and for someone that might want to stay all Ruger, and the price point for what you get is pretty good. Can you do better? Sure, you can do as much better as you can afford to spend. At rimfire events, there are 10/22s that easily have $1,500 or more in upgrades.Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association
