That's what I paid for mine several years ago. You did well, Grasshopper.

Just an update.... got it out of jail Sunday, and finally got around to taking it for a test spin. Below is a pic of the 1st ten rounds, at 20 yards off-hand. I'm pretty happy with it:

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

I really, really like this revolver. Between it and the S&W Model 41, I think I have the best of both worlds.

I had bought some wood grips to go on my 686 but decided to try them on my 617 instead. I think I'll leave them on the 617.

Those look beautiful! I would keep them on as well.

Do you remember what those grips are called, and where you got them?

As much as some people poo poo about the Cross Roads gunshow, I've made many good acquisitions when it comes to Del Mar. The vendor selling grips had such a big selection that it was tough to make a choice. What is great about buying at the show vs online is that you get to hold them for how they fit your hand, and you buy the exact wood tone/grain that is in your hand. It was several years ago but I recall paying $40 for this set of grips.

Nice score. I've been wanting one of these for decades and finally found one I liked, in good shape, at a good price, when I actually had the funds. ;-)

Clean original -1, six inch. I like the idea of the 10 shot, but finding an earlier one made my day.
