Guess I will be one of the few that get to hunt , and keep enough meat to feed the family .

ps. I am not a mommys basement type guy , still have and will have my vision . And I do enjoy the time spent cleaning my firearms , yes even the lowly 22 rf . I keep my tools clean and in proper working order , unlike a good number here .
Whoa ....whoa , hold on a second.
I never mentioned mommy's basement....... I clearly said "his basement"
    2 different things entirely there.
If I was pondering if I should get into 22lr reloading .... I would guess I and many others would currently- "notice my use of that word at times" - find it better just to go buy a case or 2 instead.
I do think it's a good idea that the option to hand-load 22lr is out there .... because seldom is having options a bad thing.
As unfeasible as they may be......
If I ever make it to Ca. , I'll be sure to pack extra 30rd mags and 22lr.
I'll let the price stickers on everything and sell at my cost.
The Ca gov't would never expect it as my hippie car will be plastered with Hillary for Prez and save the whale bumper stickers.
    It's the perfect cover.
I was born too late to be a boot legger but maybe maybe this can be my niche'

Keep an eye on your local big 5 adds. The are selling savage mkii SV-SR with a decent 3x9 scope. Wait for a sale and pull the trigger, I got one for 320 otd and I just sold my ruger American rimfire because i like the savage so much. I haven't shot any cz rimfires, but if there anything like their pistols then they are top notch.

Hopefully, i'm not derailing the conversation, but I'm curious to see what your comparison of the two rifles are. I was deciding between the MArlin XT22, savage Mkii, CZ 452 and ruger american and went with the ruger compact tb. I mainly wanted a shorter barrel (16-18") iron sights, threaded barrel, relatively lightweight. The ruger seemed to tick most of the boxes. Hopefully, I'll get it next week.
I felt the savage Mkii fv-sr was a bit too front heavy, the lack of iron sights wasn't a deal killer, but I felt the Ruger had better build quality (esp the stock and the magazines).

Anyways, just curious how you compare the two.
