Hello everyone, I'm new to the world of rifles and about 3 days old here at Calguns. I stared a post in the center fire manual operations forum about my desire to buy a bolt action rifle. I got a lot of good feed back from getting a 22lr, to Appleseed or formal training, etc. My ultimate goal is to become a responsible and proficient sports hobby shooter from 200 to maybe 500 yards, and get into reloading. As for now I own a S&M sport 2 and I'm currently in the market for a 22Lr. I was scouring through the rimfire section and could not find any information on bolt action 22lr. Then half the time I didn't know if people were talking about the 22lr rifles or pistols. So I'm a bit lost in this section of the forum.
So my questions are could any of you refer me to some good 22lr bolt action rifles? I checked out several websites and the bolt action 22lr seems to not have many options compared to the semis. Guess the real question should be, when it comes to mostly indoor range practice does it matter if I use a semi or bolt action?
This may be a dumb question but I'm curious. Now it could have been my friends rifle, but did it sound like the bullets were ricocheting?
Also, are 22lr casing worth catching for when I get into reloading? Yes I bought a catch bag lol.
