When it comes to optics, carried away is a relative term (it's really a separate category from firearms; I have about the same $ invested in my scope as my 10/22).

This looks like it might fit. Is this too much?

One of my extended family put the Nikon 22 scopes with BDC on a new Savage bolt action. That is a nice scope. I have used a lot of Nikon cameras and microscopes over the years, as well as a couple rifle scopes. They make nice glass...

Personally, even with mid-50's eyes and bifocals, I prefer Tech Sights on 10/22 when shooting 100 yards or less.

Tasco makes a decent one. I think its called the world class for like 65bucks. Good clarity stays true. Have one on my 10/ 22. I like it
