I don't think I've ever even seen rounds like this for sale.

I respect that these 22 shotshells have worked for others, but my experience has been that they were totally worthless.

I was using blue cap CCI shotshells. A small snake from 3-4 feet, just slithered away. I was mad, and thought maybe I missed, tried a lizard on a log from about 2'. It ran off too.

I can ring steel at 100 yards with this gun 8 out of 10 times. I didn't miss twice. Then I tried to pattern the shells on some cardboard from about 10'. Barely penetrated.

Maybe I got a bad batch, but I thought they were a little less effective than throwing a handful of dirt at a snake.

I'm sorry but, you probably missed. I've broken clays with .22lr shotshells at a skeet range and also straight aways while standing a few feet behind the thrower.

Now that's a hell of an idea. I'm going to try shooting clays with them.

So far my experience with the shotshells from CCI has been great. I bought 9 more packs of them this week and will continue to buy as many of them as I can get my hands on. I have about 50 years left of feeding them to snakes on my property and I've already used up a box and a half this summer for pest control.

I've went to carrying a S&W 442 with the first 2 rounds as shot shells and the remaining 3 as .38 +P with a back up stripper clip.

If you read my earlier posts, you'll see that I was shooting them through .22lr shotguns not handguns or rifles.

No I have tried clays with mine. I did pattern it and was quite impressed. I gave it to the wife for snake control but we have yet to need it. I have no doubts at 10 foot it would be quite deadly to a snake. It's a 22 shotgun as you said. Quite a bit different than using a rifled barrel.

Always been looking for the old game of clays some sold with it. Moskeeto I believe it was called. Would like to pick one up if the price was right.

Yep, I used to run the Mo-Skeet-O range (or just Mo Skeet, as we called it) at Camp Tahquitz for 3 years while in Boy Scouts in the late 60s. Remington smoothbore single shots were used and worked well.

Rattle snake is very good eating if still young. So is coon, possum, and nutria if it is cooked right.
