Back in the day, Big 5 used to have some pretty good deals on ammo from time to time---NOT any more!

Well Yeah, I remember under $20 a brick well. I also remember K-mart pissing me off by raising their price from $7.95 to $8.95 a brick. That was in the early 80s.

My fondest memories were 39 cents a box for Rem Hi-Speed short hollow points. And 49 cents a box for 22 longs. That would be $3.90 and $4.90 a brick. But no way could I afford a brick in 1963. I only made $1 an hour bucking hay. But I got free 'dinner".

Some of the comments made me remember going to K-Mart with my brother before a camping/shooting trip with our sons.

Early 90s. We bought a case of Winchester Wildcat .22. For $90. 5000 rounds.
Shot most of it that weekend with our boys.

Ah no worries it will be bought and flipped here on cal guns for 90 bucks and everyone will defend the price. Then the retailers will begin selling it for 90 bucks everywhere and everyone will again blow a gasket.

Actually, Before Newtown CT. I was able to squeeze in a case of Federal 525's for $185 delivered, that isn't happening ever again. I also remember seeing Federal 525 boxes stacked for days at Scheels in Reno around 2010 for $15.99/box and only picking up 3. Had I known.......

                  What a deal! :-(

Dick's had federal automatch for $0.05 per round last week.

It's the first time I bought 22 lr in 8 years!

sale? Are the silver plated? The turners in pasadena and azusa has been getting shipments often and they sell the 22lr 333 & 500 bricks for under $40

That's $0.18 each. Unless they're match ammo that's highway robbery. Hope they don't sell any.

I spoke to a buddy that works at a big 5 and he said it was a competition round and that's why it so much for a brick of 500. How true that statement is, I don't know just letting everyone know what I was told.

Prime Ammunition is a boutique supplier of Match cartridges out of Las Vegas. Their centerfire ammo is highly regarded in the PRS Series and tactical matches throughout the US. I've found it to be accurate and consistent for my precision rifles at a reasonable price (260rem and 6.5cm).

Looks like they are sold out of 22lr match, so I don't know what their regular price is, but $90.00/500 rds is a reasonable price for match 22lr.

I just got 2500 rounds from Cabela's for 179.00 shipped minus the 17.00 I get back in Cabela's bucks that works out to .065 cents a round or 32.40 a brick out the door.
