    Heritage 6 shooter?

Any input? I bought a 6.5 incher. It was cheap 129.00. Anyone have one?
By the way. Asking because i won't see yh2e pistol for at least another 3 weeks. Then 10 day dros.
Ordered from classic arms along with some other items. They are 10 days behind orders. Anoter week or so shipping. Seems they are really busy.

My wife keeps one with her for buzz worm deterrent when gardening. She prefers a revolver and the cowboy style suits her.

We've probably plinked 2-3000 rds with no issues. It is what it is for easy use.

I have a 4.5" (?) Rough Rider in 22LR/22WMR. It is a serviceable weapon. The fit and finish are not up to the standards of more expensive guns like Ruger Single Six. The barrel, cylinder, and hammer are machined/forged. The frame seems to be cast. The minor parts are stamped and MIM. There is an annoying manual safety that I never use. The gun also has a transfer bar safety.

The gun is fairly accurate. Not as accurate as my dad's Ruger Mk II 6", but that's probably because of the lousy shooter. It is fun to shoot. Due to the less than perfect fit and finish, the cylinder sometimes gets stuck, especially after the gun is warmed up. It gets better after a few hundred rounds. Or you can do some minor fitting yourself to smooth the rough parts of the gun.

Overall I think the gun is a good value. It does what it's supposed to. The fit and finish is "good enough." I'm satisfied on the money spent.

Edit: I take that back. There isn't a transfer bar safety. The hammer sits on the firing pin that sits on a live round. You will have to load it the traditional way unless you want to use that manual safety. The manual safety is just a simple hammer block safety. It can be engaged at any time.

If I have 30 "freed" days , I definitely get one of (tin can, pot can or whatever they said) Heritage revolver. The price is so good for a plinker, it reminds me the old west movies that people paid 5 dollar for a revolver.

It was the gun that started my sickness. Come to think of it if I hadn't have bought it ide likely be sitting on a small liquid fortune lol. Great starter gun IMHO everyone I have let shoot it has enjoyed it. It slows the younger ones down as well on the reloads

Had one. Fun and reliable. Gave it to my son for his B'day. Might get another. Not as good as a fine S&W but certainly worth that the current retail price.

              I have the 6.5".
It works fine with both types of ammo.

I ordered the WMR cylinder for ~$30 +S/H.
They sent me the wrong part and made me pay to return it.
(And I never miss a chance to ding them in a forum for that.)

Yep. I bought one with fiber optic front sight. Very accurate. I also like the saftey, because with it engaged, I can dry fire it without snap caps. Downside of the gun is, my fingers get filthy from rotating the cylinder.

Good to know! It will be shot, not sure how much, but o it will get used.

Just curious if its better than a hipoint? Lol, They were the same price but opted for a little 22 plinker. I always wanted a single shot (think most gun enthusiast have one) I dont expect Ruger, Colt, or smith quality just want something to shoot in the woods and have fun.

Hmmm ok, so your telling me im gonna start getting more? Lmao ya tell the Mrs that one. This was more of a impulse buy more than anything else. So it seems on the internet that the Heritage are decent little shooters. My kids are all grown with only one left at home. They grew up shooting revolvers, semis but no single shooters.
Yup like 28 more days. Lol.

Those nice Fo sights were out of stock. Only a few pistols were available. Service rep told me that Cali is buying out the store. Bwahahaha imagine that??

I had one I bought as a junk gun back when they were $89.00.
It was more accurate than my ruger super single but that gun was a lemon , I just never liked it much and the cheap metal got a funky film on it when hoppes was left on it to long......
Sold it to a guy during the anthrax panic time frame so he could defend his supplies ...... "long story"

I don't know anything about Hipoint. I have never even handled one, let alone fired one.

For the price, I think Heritage has good build quality. It's not as ugly as Hipoint, no offense to any Hipoint fans here. Most important of all, it slows down the process so ammo lasts longer.

I'm actually thinking about getting another matching Rough Rider. That way I can say "I have two guns. One for each o' ya!"

I almost bought 2. Lol for the same reason. 2 handed single shots. What could be more fun?
So instead i got 2 boring lowers.

heritage roughrider is quite ok. 22lr for plinking, 22wmr for protection. i spent about $220 to get a 9shot. it or a ruger single six always go to my range. more often than not it is loaded with 22wmr speer gold dot for credible static defense.

Really? 22WMR is good enough for defense? You're not talking about rodents of unusual size, are you?
