gsg 1911, fill me in

Had mine for a few years now. Unknown round count but my guess would be 10k+. It did however blew up on me using Remington golds... Ever since it was "repaired", I've only been using high velocity, but have narrowed it down to only using Winchester M-22.
Mine seems to have no issues at all as long as I keep it clean but probably after 150 rounds after a good clean, i'll get a stovepipe or fail to feed here and there but that's it.
To me its fairly accurate for what it is but I've nearly taken it to the range with me everytime I head out. Its a fun plinker for sure.

Here is mine, it is easily the worst gun I have. It runs ok after being cleaned and oiled, but only for about 100 rounds before I start getting FTF, FTE, or failure to go into battery completely. I much prefer my Ruger 22/45. As an experiment I have decided to never clean it except for running a bore snake and thousands of rounds later the only issues have been due to occasional duds

I have SIG 1911-22, one of my favorites to shoot. No problems with any ammo, including CCI standard velocity, golden bullets, thunderbolts, and most other bulk stuff. Runs for many hundreds of rounds between cleanings and fairly accurate. I replaced the sights, both safeties, trigger and main spring housing. I also sent it to ZRTS for "Ultimate Package" job.

GSG 1911 is a great gun. I had one when it came out, sold it and regret it since. Last week galleryofguns got some in stock, so I ordered one again. It's just fun to shoot, and unlike the browning 1911-22 which feels nothing like a 1911, GSG feels exactly like an 1911.
Definitely take out the magazine disconnect, also can someone suggest me a cheap main spring housing replacement?
When I bought mine, galleryofguns had 11 in stock, just checked they're down to 3 in stock now. So hurry if you wanna get one, because it is hard to find locally without over paying.

It's a great gun, looks and feels like a original 1911 except for weght and recoil of course. Mine is reliable with a lot of bulk ammo like CCI and Federal. Hates white trash, Remington, Aguila. The only negative side is accuracy. It is much better after ZRTS barrel bushing and slide alignment conus upgrade but still can't shoot reliably at 15+ yards.

I have one of each of these as well. The 1911, I bought for $200 here on Calguns. It chokes on all Federal or Winchester ammo, but runs fairly reliably on Mini-Mags and Golden Boolitz.
The 922, I bought new @ Turners when they were on sale for $279. First time out, the back part of the rear sight flew off with only 23 Mini-Mags down the pipe. GSG/ATI's C/S never responded to any of my 3 emails I sent, but I was finally able to get hold of them on the phone one day. They sent me a new sight right away. Another ~100 rounds, and so far, so good.
Neither one of these is really a "good" gun, but they are a hoot to shoot. And that is what plinking is all about for me, so Thumbs up for either one.

Took mine out again. Failed to feed about 60% of the time. On the 4th mag, thr rear site exploded. These things are so chintsy.

From my experience, the GSG 1911-22 is a great little pistol. I have has no issues with any brand of round put through it. It is probably one of my favorite guns and I have a pretty fair sized pile to choose from.

I have one, I really like mine, been a good pistol.

I don't really shoot it that much anymore, but its the first thing I grab when I need to teach someone new how to shoot.

The transition to a 45 ACP 1911 is much easier for them after they get a few rounds with the GSG 1911.

Had one back then. The slide cracked after 200 or so rounds. Sent it back then sold it. U better off getting Buckmark , 22/45 or even a P22.

There's no doubt that these are not very robust pistols, but with some care they run pretty well. A member over at RFC has over 20,000 rounds through his. Mine ( bought well used) had the sights fall off, and I wasn't happy with the accuracy so I put on an aftermarket slide meant to take a red dot and some accuracy parts. It's way more accurate now and as reliable as I would expect any semi auto rimfire could be.

Shot from a rest at 10 yards with minimags. Before on the left and after I installed new slide, red dot sight and accuracy parts on the right. Since I don't live in Ca. I have the 15 round mag mods also.

I like to use it as a warm up before moving to a 1911-45 and the red dot has been a fun learning experience.

Still have mine but have not shot it for a while but still a fun .22 to shoot. No issues for me. Yes, I do get stove pipes once in a blue moon but it's a .22. Good bang for the buck.
