Mine doesn't run well. Took about 400 rounds for it to not stovepipe constantly. It also has a real issue getting rounds into battery, slide gets hung up.

Seems to run the same on everything from golden bullet to CCI minimag.

Went from 3-4 malfunctions per magazine to about 1 per magazine after break in.

Decent accuracy. Not as good as a Ruger 22/45 or Browning Buckmark, but it's a lot cheaper. Plenty fine for plinking.

Having trouble finding more magazines for it but that said I really like mine. No issues after a few hundred rounds. I do like it that the backstop matches what I have done to my 45's so it is a natural training tool. Great little gun with a full-size feel.

I've got two of these and really never had any problems with ammo including
bulk stuff. I did break a firing pin after 1000 rds on the full size one but GSG
sent me a new within a week. If nothing else the full size FEELS just like a
full size Govt Model with the same controls, because the slide is so lite weight
you can safely get trigger pull to under 3# without the hammer following the
slide. Great triggers on both the ones I have. Pete

I have the 1911 model. I've had 1 FTE in bulk ammo, about 700 rounds so far.

I oiled the slide a bit more and that was it.

Winchester X, Golden Bullets, and Mini Mags are good to go.

          Magazines are expensive though.

the sig 1911-22 use the same mags. for sig stuff I usually go through a rep named jay. let him know you were referred to him from calguns and let him know what you're looking for. for mags though I think usually he discounts at 3 or more I believe and usually throws in free shipping and they don't collect tax.

I bought Sig 1911-22 for my son to learn to shoot pistols, he loves it. Basic feel of pistol is 1911. Solid and heavy with decent trigger. I was really shocked to see how soft the slide was. Too keep pistol cycling properly, slide material is super light. Pistol came with a steel slide stop that would chew into slide along underside along locking notch. For that matter, the slide stop has taken its toll on the frame also. I picked up pistol used and frame has some seriously deep gouges, unsure if slide stop is original or was replaced with 1911 slide stop that is just too hard for softer frame and slide.

Sights on pistol were plastic, not really a big deal and they come with three interchangeable blades so you can adjust height of shot. I replaced sights with Dawson Precision night sights. I would have likely kept factory sights but used pistol did not include extra blades.

Spare parts kits are available for under $30, http://blsolutions.ca/gsg-1911-spare-parts-kit/

Plastic guide rod and recoil spring replaced with stainless. Now rod reaches full length of barrel. I have not shot pistol enough to know if this has made a difference or not.

Extra mags came from www.ammunitiondepot.com for about $20 per mag.

Parts from standard 1911 will fit GSG 1911-22 or Sig 1911-22. About 80% of parts direct replacement from full size 1911.

All in all it is a good pistol and fun plinker. My son sure likes it. Accuracy is fair; not the best but decent. Other 22's I have outshoot it easily but they are off roster and forbidden fruit.

Would I do it again, yes

Fun gun to shoot. However, it has a reputation for the finish rubbing off easily. That has been my experience but I don't mind. The price was right and I am now over 17k rounds.

My wife has a Sig 1911 22 it is her favorite gun to shoot. I had to clean up the paint over spray inside the slide and on the rails. It seems to like round nose bullets. Shoots HV ammo better though it will shoot SV now. It is fun to shoot a 1911 like gun for less than .10 a round. Good gun. There are great .22 around but more money.

My GSG 1911 isn't the most accurate 22 I own but it is a fun gun to shoot & after break in does shoot most brands of 22's except Winchesters.

My GSG has over 5K rd count, no issues with cheap, bulk ammo. As mentioned earlier, slide finish is weak. But it is fun to shoot.

Mine functions ok. Initially I had some problems with FTE and failing to go completely into battery, those issues have now gone away. Seems like the way you load the magazines makes a big difference on how the gun functions. I always give mine a tap on the back spine of the mag before inserting.

I would also recommend getting some goodies from CWA or ZT. My Sig 1911-22 was not accurate at all, even when using mini mags. With the ZT barrel bushing, guide rod, and recoil spring the accuracy has improved.

If you are expecting a 22 to run 100%, expect to be dissapointed.

That being said, i have both versions as well. Have about 12k rounds through the 1911-22 and maybe just 1k through the other. Both have an occasional failure to feed and fire. Dont really like the bigger one as a trainer because the recoil is really really mild. The 922 has quit a bit more felt recoil than the big brother, which i prefer for training. But it is noticeably less accurate than the 1911-22 in slow fire.

I have the Sig Sauer 1911-22, which is essentially the same gun as the GSG, except for the markings. I like it a lot, especially after installing the PES from CWA and having a trigger job done to it. Prior to those mods, it was just okay. The finish is not very good. The alloy used for the slide is not the best.

It is not for bullseye shooting. It is more of a plinker. I got spare mags for $23 (I think) from Greg Cote.

It is the .22 handgun that I shoot the most. No problems to report besides the occasional duds (could be ammo related). It shoots most high velocity ammo well, including bulk stuff like Rem GB, Federal, etc.

Knowing what I know now, if I wanted to get a handgun in .22, I will still get a GSG or a Sig Sauer. Hope this helps.

I've probably got 20k rounds through mine. Still love it and still take it with me when I hit the range.

I used to have a thread about my GSG, from round 1 through several thousand with ammo tests and modifications - I am sure you can dig it up if you search.
