Browning 1911-22 manufacturing location??

I keep hearing the 1911-22 is made in the US but haven't been able to find who/where.
FN owns Browning these days so production location could be a number of places.
Just curious as I have one on order.

If I remember correctly it is made by a company in Utah.

And, no it's not made by Browning but another company there in Utah.

I recently read "Browning" no longer produces anything.
Kind of confusing really. Whomever is making the 1911-22, is doing a fine job.

I have the Commander-sized clone (but at 85% size), and just like the Government model, the sights SUCK.

Of course, the Black Label version or whatever it is with the beavertail safety and the combat sights isn't on the Roster, and last time I checked no one was offering a decent pair of sights.

This is a sweet little 1911 but it needs sights you can see! !@#$%!

You read correctly.

Browning is a marketing company. Not a manufacturing company.

They contract with other companies to make their products and all they do is the marketing of those items. Their rifles and shotguns are made in Japan by Howa.

Thank you. I learned something new. I had always thought that it was Howa that built their rifles and shotguns.

When it 1st came out, I remember the Browning site saying it was made by the same company as the buckmark. I believe they did that to give confidence to consumers that it would work right the 1st time.


According to rimfirecentral and other forum sources, the buckmark is made by Arms Technology, Inc in UT

I also didn't know that ATI has also produced the Challenger II.


However, I do remember that Taco Bell ad for 19 cent bean burritos. That was a few years before they bought Pup 'N' Taco For a little under $2, mom was able to afford taking us 'out to eat', IF we shared a drink. Or, if we took it home and skipped the drink, it was about $1.50.

Ummmmm Pup 'N Taco. I miss them. I've never been a fan of Taco Bell and when I found out that they bought and closed Pup 'N Taco it made me like them less. [emoji19]

I keep meaning to pick one of these up, LGS has one for $600, Id be happier around $500 but its just an extra month of saving.
