My son asked for a new .22 rifle. His previous rifle was a hand me down armscor m1600 with tens of thousands of rounds down the pipe. He wants something new to take to Appleseed.
He decided on a 10/22. He wanted the standard basic carbine. I was hoping he would go for a takedown or a tactical model but he went simple. It saved me a little money in the initial investment.
So I jailed a carbine and jumped on the internet for parts. I started off ordering a bipod, Ruger sling, Tacfire scope rail, Leapers scope rings and Uncle Mikes sling swivels on Amazon. I picked up a Cabelas brand caliber specific 3x9 scope at Cabelas along with some other parts. I also ordered a Kidd trigger job kit, auto lock release, Kidd magazine plunger, Kidd extractor and Kidd spring tuning kit. I bought butler creek spring assist flip cap scope covers but I guess I ordered the wrong size so they have to go back.
The trigger is crazy light. I had no previous experience with anything other than a factory 10/22 trigger. Night and day difference.
So I think we have a good base and we can go from here I guess.
