My Buckmark has no problem with bulk ammo but my GSG 1911-22 is so much fun.

OP: where are you located? I'm sure someone could let you shoot their .22s.

I've shot many and given what's available, I'd recommend the Buckmark.

Have fun, shoot many thousands of rounds while looking for your next 22LR pistol, the Ruger MKII or III.

+1 for considering a .22LR revolver as well. Ruger makes a version of their SP-101 in .22LR. I've shot it, and it's (as expected of Ruger) an excellent firearm. It's got a pretty long trigger pull--there's long, and then there's "Ruger long"--but it'll last forever.

Being a revolver, not only is it easy to clean, but also very likely to be on the roster. And operation couldn't be simpler.

Down the line, if you want a 9mm or .38/357, then by all means, get one.

BTW, like the OP, I've got a 10/22, too. I call it, "the Assault .22" because it is "capable of accepting a High Capacity Clip!"

Buck mark, buck mark, buck mark.

I had this and a ruger mark III. Sold the mark 3 because it was a pain in the butt to take apart and it weighs way too much.

People tend to want what they can't have, don't fret about not being able to grab the ruger, the browning is every bit as sweet.

Never had an issue with bulk ammo and that is all I shoot, 1000s of rounds in without issue.

I picked up a Buckmark Camper about 2 months ago. So far it has handled everything I have put through it including some 25yr old stuff.

Really a fun gun to shoot and very accurate.

Not sure why bulk ammo would be a problem but will try some from a couple of bricks I have and see how it goes.

Bulk ammo shoots no problem. I have several pistols and the buck mark outshoots most of them. If anything, the buckmark cycles bulk ammo as good(or better) as any 22 pistol available. Camper is a cheap option; but shop online and the URX or UDX can be found at very reasonable prices. Plenty of accessories available too.

Forget the new ones, go out and find yerself a vintage unit and proceed to be mesmorized by "point and die" instincts of this little gem.

I've shot many of the firearms mentioned in k1dude's post #10, it's good advice. I also own more than a few of those listed and you cannot go wrong with the Buckmark line. I would also add that the M & P 22 (now off roster) is a great little gun that shoots EVERYTHING! No problems whatsoever!

+1 more for the buckmark. Zero complaints.

Kimber rimfire, and Sig 1911-22 look nice to me, but I've never shot either of them.

S&W discontinued the 22a-1 even though it's still on the roster. My 22a-1 had frequent light primer strikes and cleaning the firing pin channel didn't help.

I had nothing but trouble with my Walther p22. Very picky with ammo.

Buy a Glock 17 and Advantage Arms conversion kit and 10 mags.
Buy tons of rimfire ammo, the Glock AA kit likes HV ammo for break in, then HV and STD 22lr after 500 rounds.

                                Then go shoot
