    hello

    got me a Ruger 10/22

only came with 1 10 round mag

which mags should i buy? any hick up running aftermarket mags?

also where can i get blocked 10/25 or 10/30 round magazines?

this rifle is for my 9 year old daughter and she likes the banana mags ( yes she is a gun lover )

I'd stick with the rotary mag if you want to keep it reliable. I haven't seen any blocked 10/22 mags, but haven't looked very hard either. I'd recommend rugers 25 rounder if you can find one blocked.

The black Ruger mazines work great. For some reason, I have found in multiple rifles, the clear Ruger magazines do not seem to release/drop.

During timed fire with magazine change, we used the black magazine first, because they reliably drop.

Look into trimag couplers OP. They work great and are legal.

The mags with the red plastic lips are notorious. Just stick with genuine Ruger black rotaries.

The clear Ruger 10/22 mags are slightly larger than the standard black ones.
This is why they are a snug fit in some guns.

Archangel has a 25 round stick that is blocked to 10 rounds.
This one looks like an early MP5 mag, more straight shape at the top instead of the traditional banana shape.
This one can be a little long, front to back, to fit in some guns easily.

Butler Creek and other make 10/25 banana mags.

The Ruger 22 magazines are the best. Blocked longer magazines are gay.

Stick with the Ruger 10 round rotary magazines. They are reliable. Since you can't buy unrestricted capacity banana mags (thanks to the idiot politicians in Sacramento) there is no point in having them blocked to 10 rounds and then having feeding issues.

Turner's has three-packs of genuine Ruger 10 rounders for $41.00, maybe cheaper or easier than ebay for some.
Not bad for everyday retail price.

As others have said, factory 10 round. If you know someone with a clear factory mag, try that before you buy any( they are a little bigger.) The clear are also $1 or $2 more. I have clear and black both and they all fit in both my 10/22s.

                        3x factory mags + tri-coupler = win!

Ruger exchanged my clear mag for a black one because it didn't fit in all my guns. No charge or hassle.

Factory mags are the best choice for a 10-22.

I have three of those from waaaay back when. They suck. Total waste of money.

Sure wish there were more options out there.
