So basically, you're buying high quality parts and building your own 10/22. Or your just being a 10/22 and lots of ammo.

If you already have one, I vote build your own!

      New barrel
      Receiver
      Bolt
      Trigger

Just need a stock and some mags, right?
      Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!

Thinking there are two camps, people who will spend money upgrading a $200 rifle, and those who would say "I can get a whole other gun for that"

There are those that drive minivans and those that drive corvettes.

I put the Kidd trigger and bold buffer in mine. That was a major improvement. Someday I'm sure I'll just build one all the way up.

Better trigger, better ammo and lots of practice = better marksman.

Skip the tacsol barrel and buy a whistle pig barrel. Much better chamber and more accurate.

Everything else KIDD, or youre just a poser. Lol

The best bang for the buck would be to send the entire barreled action to Randy at CPC. It will come back as a top performer.

A waste of money IMHO. My stock 10/22 is a tack driver at 100 yards. Groups of 10 within the size of a quarter with CCI 40 grain Mini-Mags and a Bushnell 3-9x30 scope.

I'd spend $300 on a new rifle and ammo.

IF I were competition shooting I'd look at building a Volquartsen Custom 10-22
                  or
Anschutz 2013/690 with stock 2018 ALU Precise.

But are much more than the $300 budget.

Mine got VQ hammer, sear, trigger, and springs, a "sniper" stock and a Shaw heavy barrel. Right at $300 in parts, and I'm very happy with the results. So is the wife. The squirrels in the back yard? Not happy at all...

OTOH, I put the VQ hammer, sear, trigger, and springs in for like $80, and it shoots pretty well until it gets really hot.

Ammo makes a bigger difference than anything else. At 50 yards or less, these two both like MiniMags. At 100 yards, they both prefer quality standard velocity ammo.

Upgrade your trigger (finger) with lots of good quality ammo and practice ...practice ...practice.

Unless of course you're shooting in some type of competition then spend as much money as you like.
