    Good affordable scope

I'd like to buy a decent rimfire scope that is also affordable. It's for a savage mark ii. I know nothing about scopes so I've been trying to do some research, but there's so many that it gets confusing. The rifle will be mostly for fun and plinking, and teaching my daughter to shoot. maybe also some prairie dog or squirell hunting in the future

Does anyone have any suggestions based on experience?

You might consider checking out the Simmons 22mag series of scopes. They are reasonably priced and are probably still available through Amazon.

      I have a VX-2 3-9x33mm Rimfire EFR on my .22 (M&P 15/22).

I had it modified at the custom shop to include knobs for windage and elevation.

It's been working pretty well for me...

Nikon. I like Nikon camera's(SLR previously, now DSLR), lenses, and scopes.

Friend put one of these on his Savage; it is pretty nice!

Yep, Nikon Prostaff Rimfire is very nice for the money. If I were doing it over I might pony up the extra $50 or so and get the EFR with adjustable objective.

I have a 4-16X Center Point from Wally World on another .22 that is surprisingly good.

I have one on my Marlin Model 60:

It's a fixed 4-power but for what I use it for (plinking) it's more than good enough.

                Here's some choices on Amazon:

Realistically, IMHO, a 3 or 4 power fixed is more than enough for most 22's; it is certainly enough for shooting 100 yards or less. Most 22's see less than 100 yards...

I'd agree actually did that with my Browning SA 22 but on my heavy barrel bolt 22's/17HMR's I like a little more scope.

I'm a fan of CenterPoint scopes. They're economically priced and have a very nice feature set. I got mine from Amazon but, as you point out, Wally World carries them too. I use a 2-7x32mm on my CZ 527 Carbine and a 3-9x32mm on my Ruger Mini 14.

I have Bushnells and Nikons on my .22s. I think the glass on the Bushnells is better. A Bushnell AR Optics Drop Zone-22 with a BDC is about $100 give or take.
