OP, I know you chose Nikon, but also consider that a 10/22's recoil is nearly non-existent. A Simmons Whitetail Classic in 3-9x40 would do very nicely. Heck, a cheapie Tasco would do the trick on a 10/22. I bought a used one for $10 from a buddy, put it on my 10/22, and it's worked fine, held zero, been more than clear enough for 100-yard work, all that. I know, Tasco, but it works on my rifle.

Of course, that Nikon's going to be great on your rifle, too.

Do you guys use the larger (picatinny style) rails like every-other gun uses or the smaller 22 sized rails? Sorry I can't remember the correct size.

If you use a larger rail, what brand?

Nikon, however why spend so much on the rifle without spending just a little more for a really nice optic?

A Leupold 2-7x rimfire will set you back only $250 and you'll have a much more pleasant time shooting. I was poking around the website the other day while ordering one and their custom shop has a ton of really cool options.

BSA is $50. Nikon and Primary Arms are about the same in $120. I think all of them have good reviews. I also heard the the Primary Arms Acss is now adopted by Acog.

Mine is only a range toy and will shoot up to 100 yards only.

          Which one will you pick?

I would not get the BSA. If you are going cheap, get a Simmons.

I have never seen a Primary Arms scope. Nikon scopes are clear.

I know this wasn't a choice, but it is within the same price range as the Nikon, it is made in the USA, and has a lifetime warranty.

The factory rail takes both 3/8 rimfire or 7/8 Weaver rings, and both work equally well. I prefer Leupold's Rifleman 10/22 rail system (~$9), but Ruger's does the job. For 10/22 rings I usually use the lowest Leupold horizontally split Rifleman rings ($15-20) that will work with the scope I'm using.
