    10/22 build becoming reality.

Been thinking about a 10/22 build for many years but something else always took priority. Recently due to medical procedures and ongoing chemo therapy, I've been restricted to shooting pistols and .22 rifles only, so I used this opportunity to finally build the 10/22 I've always wanted...

Will be picking up my KIDD receiver next week and already got the rest of the parts ready and waiting. Can't wait to put it all together and shoot it. This will be an all KIDD build as the pictures will show. The stock will be Victor Company's Titan, and the scope is currently Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50.

Got a mix of ammo to try also. I already have a CZ 455 Varmint in .22lr that shoots very well, but I have high hopes for this build as well. Good times.

Shooting on 22 is awesome. It lets you concentrate on enjoyment. 22 lr Ar uppers are a blast. It puts the evil back into 22.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

i just did a bullpup .22 and can't put the thing down- think I might get a browning SA, and do a build, too. I love my other guns, but nothing is fun like the little .22 for me these days...

If you really want to improve that 455, put a Lilja barrel on it and get the full benefit of the Rws R50 and the Eley Match. The Eley Sport that I have shot had 10-15% fliers. Maybe it was a bad batch. I think it has been discontinued.

Thanks joe47 for the suggestion. I've thought long and hard about putting a lilja barrel on the CZ before and decided against it due to cost, and the fact that the factory varmint barrel was already shooting so well. It likes the standard+ and Wolf well enough that I don't shoot the expensive stuff much. I just purchased more of the standard+ (new packaging) and hope my new KIDD will like it just as much. Then again, with the variations between lots who knows what will happen.

All 4 of my 10/22's have kidd guts...couldn't be happier. The guide rod alone smoothed out the action like butter.

Sergeant Ernie Savage: Beautiful morning, Sergeant!

Very nice, I too did a kidd build and it is awesome. I used a Green mountain barrel .The guide rod spring was a PITA to put in but it cycles real smooth.

Is there a significant cost savings putting it together yourself verses buying their complete gun?

When you order a complete gun, it will ship as a complete gun and in turn, I would be paying 8% tax on a $1200+ rifle during the transfer, and the associated additional shipping fees. Instead, I only paid 8% on a $172 receiver... also, I did not like their choices of stocks and wasn't sure if they would use a stock I supply, but again, that's additional shipping I would have to take care of.

Biggest reason is I like to put the rifle together myself.

congrats, and great that you've moved the completion of your 10/22 to the front of the line.

Received the Kidd two stage trigger (8oz/8oz) last night and compared it to the single stage I already received a week ago. Both triggers are amazing; not sure what else to say... But... I decided to keep the two stage and will be returning the single stage back to Kidd. The two stage is much more adjustable not only in first stage/second stage weight, but also in the placement of the trigger shoe. I couldn't resist the urge so I adjusted the trigger lighter to see what it would feel like (the two stage is capable of 3oz/3oz or maybe even less), and all I can say is I can't wait to put it all together after I get my receiver out of jail today!

I have that same barrel. Unfortunately I cant get it to shoot under an inch at 50 yards

I even have the Kidd receiver that is threaded and the barrel was installed by Kidd to boot. Hopefully yours does better than mine did. Its going back to get a 16.5" Bull installed in hopes for the excellent accuracy I was expecting.

Anyway nice looking rifle, looking forward to the results.

MongooseV8, what ammo did you try with the 20" barrel?

WIll try to update as soon as I can get to the range.
