I LOL'd too. Mine is a Chinese knockoff and it's a tack driver, even with bulge in the barrel half way down. Found this article mentioning the TOZ-8. I just wish the article was complete.

You are both right, TOZ-8 is both bad and excellent rifle. Rifles available for wide public in USSR were of mediocre quality, and at the same time for sportsmen Tula Arms Plant supplied manually well-tuned competition grade firearms.

So here is how she shot at 25yrds. The first shot was way to the left. I adjusted the front sight and then it was center but a little high. I aimed lower and five grouped into the hole you see.

This was at 50yrds. It spread out some. Not necesarily a tack driver but will do. The x I made with tape was hard to track due to the width of the front post.

Just to clarify, I started shooting about 0730 and it was about 90 deg, zero wind, using Reminton Thunderbolts off a Benchmark shooting rest.

Try it with different types of .22 ammo if you can find any. My .22s tend to work best with CCI mini-mags, but your results may vary.
