The Tactical Solutions 2211 10 round magazines are last round hold open.
A little Pricey, but Very well built.

Does the Tactical Solutions kit have a set screw onto the slide release like the Marvel Unit 1 does? Looks interesting, and priced competitively with the Marvel kit. I also like the Combo Rail, rather than having two different rails.

I've used both the Kimber and Advantage Arms conversions. Both were reliable and as accurate as the 1911 host pistol. AA's only advantage is the last round holdopen IMO.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Tac-Sol products are very good, having had several. But, I already have the Kimbers, and got both almost new for what one Tac-Sol would run me.

I picked up mine used (200 rounds) for $300,before they came out with the railed version.

I'd say no because I don't see a set screw on the upper and the lower is just a standard 1911 frame. (remove the 45acp upper and slide the 22 upper in its place)

I have a dedicated Kimber rimfire target that I use in Rimfire 2-gun competitions that is way more reliable than any stock 22/45 and is as or more accurate

I sold off all m 22 pistols and now I have 22 lconversion kit for most of my center fire pistols. My favorite is my kimber kit on an alloy frame.

                  Check out the Nelson conversion.

I have a GSG with a red dot and accuracy mods. Fully loaded it's going to be lighter than a loaded 1911 but with the controls all in the same place it's a reasonable warmer-upper for the .45.

If you are really trigger sensitive and value your 1911 for that, a conversion kit will be the way to go. I have an RIA combo 45/22 that works well but the accuracy of the .22 upper could be better.

The GSG is mounted on my Gold Cup frame. I accurized my Gold Cup, peening the rails and fitting the slide, and did all of the hand fitting on the barrel. It will easily outshoot the GSG conversion. The GSG slide still fits, and functions with all ammo types I've tried, but there's still the tolerances between slide to frame, bushing to slide, and bushing to barrel that will affect accuracy (1.5" at 25 yards with bulk ammo); and that you don't have with the 22/45 (3/4" at 25 yards, same ammo).

There are some accurizing bits you can get for the GSG/Sig, like a conical barrel end and matching bushing, but I'm just using the conversion for plinking, so I won't be spending more money on it.
I had to make the same purchase.

I put mine on a commanding officers frame. The dust cover is about 1/8 inch short, but it functions fine with bulk ammo.

Does the slide stop back out a bit on yours when the mag is empty?

I like my 22/45 more for accuracy, but it's a fun plinker, and lets my daughter get used to 1911 controls and dimensions.

I had a kimber conversion kit, and paid a pretty penny when they were first introduced, it only liked cci mini mags, did not lock the slide back after the last round, and came with just one very plastic magazine. I also had a nice somewhat prized 22/45 Mk 2, my dad and cousin each have one, and none of them have performed flawless or were that much more accurate than other .22 pistols ive owned. I now have a gsg 1911 22, and I think i love it. Slide locks back after the last round, has metal magazines, mags are relatively cheap, I got some during the last Sig sale for about 12 or 13 bucks a piece. I have a mosquito that isn't accurate or reliable on anything but cci mini mags, it was also a very early production pistol, I think its biggest problem is overcoming the hammer spring.
What's not to love about the gsg 1911 22, its locally 299 dollars, and gsg makes great .22 replicas.
