Mp 15-22 Owners - Ammo Choice

    Hello all,

Curious about what ammo folks would suggest for their MP 15-22s. Does anyone have any experience with CCI .22LR AR Tactical? Its 40 Grain 1200 FPS.

    Cheers,

I got 300 of the CCI tactical when I bought my 15-22.
    Flawless.

Mine has eaten everything I've fed it, from Thunderbolts to CCI, have not had a single issue with any of it. Keep it clean and lubed and it'll go all day!

I try to avoid lead bullets. My 15-22 isn't picky about ammo but I got an occasional FTE / FTF with Remington Golden Bullets, which are crap. CCI and Federal are always flawless.

So far mine eats anything. I've been through a couple buckets of golden bullets too. Keeping it lubed I think is key.

My 15-22 isn't ammo sensitive, and eats Win HV, Blazers, Auto Match, and Mini-Mags with gusto. I clean the bolt and chamber well after sessions, and use One Shot dry film spray, no muddy mess like oil leaves.

Dont shoot anything that you paid more than .03 cents per round. It shoots it all.

Just curious what parts do you lube? I usually put a thin film over the entire bolt assembly, some around the chamber and bore. Makes cleaning as easy as wiping down the bolt assembly.

Same here. Mine's is like a garbage disposal, will eat anything I feed it. Even eats ammo that my 10/22 doesn't like.

Never had a problem with it, I have shot blazer, federal, federal match and even some 40 year old .22lr that I bought at that gun show I went to and it all worked as it was supposed too. They are not ammo picky guns.

                        Almost this. ^^^^^^^^

                        Mines doesn't like thunderbolts.

For lube, I just put a thin layer of grease on the two bars that the bolt slides
back and forth on... and a little dab of oil on the recoil spring guide rod.

For ammo: My 15-22 seems to be the least picky of any of my rimfires, it
even shoots Winchester doodoo and Remington caca!

I like shooting Aquila SSS 60 grain "Sniper Subsonics", they're so quiet you
can hear the "flup-flup" of the bolt resetting the hammer and then going back into battery.

My M&P 15-22 is a fat chick at an all you can eat buffet, she eats it all. I have yet to find an ammo she won't cycle. She runs fine clean or dirty. She shoots accurately with what ever out to 50 yards. The 15-22 just are not picky eaters.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Cool. I lube the bolt rails, a thin coat on the bolt body and thin coat in the chamber and bore. Make's cleaning a snap.

Aguila ammo seems to be hard to find lately. Now I want to try those Sniper Subsonics.
