.22 ammunition - Ever tried these brands?

I spoke with a local shop today who has a plentiful supply of .22 ammunition, but its not brands with which I'm familiar. Do any of you have any feedback on either Geco or Aguila brands? Not the cheapest, but certainly the most available in my area. Comes in between 10-11 cents per round which is okay with me if it is decent, since I can't find the CCI which I'm really after.

    Cheers,

Aguila is first rate ammunition in every sense of the word. Made in Mexico. Excellent value and high quality. Do not hesitate to buy and use it.

Aguila is good but the price is too rich for my blood. I'm thankful that I have a sufficient amount of .22lr to last me a while. Too bad that this "shortage" is still going on.

Aguila is very good, have never had a problem with it, it is more expensive and hard to find, as with any 22lr if I see it reasonably priced I buy it.
          Geco I have never used.

I have used Geco 9mm, .45 ACP and .223 ammo, and it has worked just fine. I haven't tried any of their rimfire ammo.

I have used their copper-coated lead round point 22LR in my bolt action rifle. It is fine. I have had no trouble with it (what is to go wrong in a bolt rifle?). However, I prefer Federal Champion.

Mexico doesn't have the cleanest potable water but they sure can make quality tequila and 22lr ammunition.

No experience with the Geco, but I do enjoy their insurance commercials!

The Aguila is Good to Go.

The ammo to stay away from is the CI junk Mexican ammo that Brownell's is trying to get rid of right now. It gets a big thumbs down from every reviewer, and it's not cheap in price either.

Aguila is basically using a lot of hardware and technology they bought off of Eley when they upgraded. You'll see the package says "Eley Prime" or something like that.

I'd use either Geco or Aguila

I still have a couple bricks of Aguila Super Maximum Hyper Velocity solid and hollow points left over from an old gun show. Those are the fastest .22LR at 1750 fps. They are rather accurate as they are so fast they seem to have less dropping over distance.

They cycle perfectly in my semi-auto's, even AR-15's with Ciener .22LR conversion bolts. My wife shot a couple hundred rounds on her custom Sun Devil AR and not one miss-feed or jam. That let me concentrate on my shooting without having to check her rifle.

In wheel revolvers they have quite a bit of kick compared to the rest, only CCI Stingers have more recoil. The Hyper Velocity are fun to shoot in the tiny NAA revolver. If you ever find this stuff, buy it.
