Should I keep this as a safe queen?

As everyone has already stated - shoot it. Its value will not depreciate any more than it has already. These rifles are a "dime a dozen."

Ok, thanks for all the replies. I am only hesitant to shoot it because I already have one I shoot regularly and am thrilled with. If this particular 10/22 has a chance to increase in value by a good bit in a decade or two, I'll just keep it in the back of the safe. If not, I might sell it to fund another gun purchase. I hope that clears up my first world dilemma?

Well, there's about 1.3 bazzilion 10/22s in circulation so not much chance they'll ever be rare. And it's not serial# 0001. I'd say if you don't shoot it, sell it.

If it's unfired it maybe worth keeping it that way but I don't think I would. It's already been fired, take it out and use it.

A 10/22 would be way at the bottom of my list of firearms to keep hoping for appreciation, especially if it used and not all wrapped up in original, mint boxed condition. Even then it would not be on my list. You may have a different prediction of the future value and so be it. You sure are not going to get rich selling it now.

Shoot it or pass it on to someone who will use it as intended. Firearms Makers go through alot of trouble to design and make Firearms for us to shoot

You may see a little increase in value of it over your lifetime, but that gain would will be negated by inflation anyway..Value wise in 20 years you will still only be able to buy the same amount of Groceries as if you sold it today.
