Anyone have a favorite CA compliant Buckmark or are they all about the same? I held one last night at the gun range and it's calling me. The low price may be part of it. Not sure what model it was.

Buckmark kills the Ruger. If you like pain in the as cleaning get the Ruger.

I've never needed a tool to field strip a ruger aside from a brand new stainless, buckmarks on then other hand...

for cheep plinking the Beretta Neos, VERY easy to clean and shoots/runs on most any ammo, great price.
If you are a tinkerer and like to work with triggers, options, and customizations, the Rugar is the only way to go.
For high end accuracy at a price you can still live with, the HAMMERLI
XESSE, available in CA because it is on this Olympic exempt list

For beauty, collectability, and fantastic function and accuracy, the model 41 or the Buck Mark already mentioned or the Browning Medalist. also available on the exempt list.
For serious target shooting, comb and scour the Olympic list, there are some amazing guns on that list.
All of these are available in CA, on list, either the standard list or the Olympic list.

I've owned a Ruger mark 2 22/45 for some years now and it has become my favorite gun to shoot. I would recommend it to anyone interested in plinking or semi-casual bullseye shooting. With CCI standard velocity ammo it shoots 3" groups at 25 yards. This is off hand so I believe this gun is capable of much better accuracy than I am capable of. Buy a used one in good condition and you won't be sorry.

Browning Buckmark all the way. I also recommend the MP22 for close rage. Both eat all the bulk ammo and are very reliable. As you can see from all the post, the Buckmark wins unanimously so get that first and trick it out with a nice dot site.
