Browning buckmark. It's accurate, reliable, cheap, and on the roster. Can't really ask for much more.

I agree. I don't have the roster limits, and that's what I just bought.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Nothing wrong with the Ruger Marks II & III except for field cleaning.
I'd take my Mark II 4.75" tapered over my Buckmark if I had to pick one.
You can go even fancier with the Hunter and Challenger models out of state.

This has been beat to death here..Here goes anyway..It depends what you plan on doing with it and how mush you want to spend ( and how hard you want to look) General consensus here is for general range and field use,get a Ruger Mk I,II or 3 or even a 22/45..Another great all purpose is the Browning Buckmark. If you want the finest (current) American 22,theres only the Smith & Wesson Model 41....If you want an older great target gun, theres the Hi-standards, Browning Challengers (or move up to the medalists)and the Colt woodsmans (or move up to the match targets)Comment

Buy all of them, shoot, keep the one you like, sell the rest. I bought my Ruger Mark II after searching for it awhile. Shot another members tricked out BuckMark and now I want that one also.Comment

I have a colt woodsman and a gsg 1911 Both shoot fine in 22 lr.Comment

Love my Mark III. Built to last and not ammo picky. I hear it can go much longer between cleanings than a Buck Mark. Like to have a Buck Mark though. I do have a Mosquito too; ammo picky but super easy to take down.Comment

You might want to save a few steps and go straight to a Model 41..It would be cheaper in the long run..I know..I did it like you!Comment
