    Mossberg tatical .22lr

I'm thinking about buying a Mossberg Tactical .22LR Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle. Just looking for something other than my shotgun, nothing expensive to buy and inexpensive to shoot. I don't shoot much. Any pros/cons?
    Thank you for your time.

Very happy with mine, bought like 3 yrs ago. Mag release takes little getting used to and it doesn't mimic 223 AR as closely as the S&W model, but I'm not too bothered by either. Some people feel it's too much plastic and take-down involves too many screws, but again I'm Ok with it. It seems to run fine with min. cleaning. And I actually like the look.

Oh gosh they will say its plastic and cheap and won't shoot; most of it wrong. Mine rocks and rolls. Fun tactical toy, see if you can find some of those thirty rounders, to make it sweeter.

If the price is right, if not get a 10/22.

I picked one up and it felt very "cheap" to me. It may function just fine, but if you are looking for a legit ar-22, this isnt the one. I got my 15/22 and it is my go-to rifle. The thing is as legit as they come, no complaints whatsoever.

OP, are you planning on taking it apart very often?

The price is $239 and I like the look of it. I have no idea what a 10/22 is, care to enlighten me? Any other recommendations

I have the one with the carry handle and standard front sight. They make a flat top as well.
                    I love it.
Yes, the outer shell is a plastic shroud, but it shoots as well as my freinds M&P 22 AR and "Colt" AR that I refused to spend that much money on.
From 10 feet away, it can be anything.

I put huge scope on it for a gag picture. Left it on and the joke was on me!
It will shoot the warts off a bumble bee's antlers at 50 yards.

2 guys from Church bought them too from Big 5.
No kidding, one of them came with the big momma magazines. No one knew to check I guess.

I've never taken it apart. Just a Bore Snake.
In fact, I just purchased the Snake and keep it on top of my safe without using it yet. eh, close enough.

I would tell you get the Sig 522, but it is easily double the price. I think for the money, the Mossy is GTG.

                          Op I own one.

Only once have I taken it apart - you don't need too. I clean it with Hopp's 9 on patches, barrel and receiver and then hose all the receiver and barrel off with gun scrub. Spray the plastic with WD40 to bring the shine back and its good to go for the next brick.

Its cheap, shoots, and fun. Get a $30 red dot and enjoy.

I'm in no way trying to bash but when i read this i immediately thought of that scene in the sandlot when the kid asks who's Babe Ruth and they all look at him in shock....

its the Babe Ruth of auto rimfire rifles pretty much...

anyways if you're not looking to shoot a whole lot and just want something fun then get the mossberg tactical its cheap and my friends is very reliable but be forewarned its a slippery slope into addiction and my best advice would be to get the best first to avoid getting it second or third and in my opinion if you are looking for the very best in tacticool 22s the S&W 15/22 is the way to go.. they are about 150 dollars more and worth every penny in comparison

                            just my opinion of course

This. The Sig 522 is simply the best tacticool 22lr there is. Dead nuts accurate, excellent barrel, excellent trigger and it breaks down like a real gun making cleaning easy.

The icing on top is I think the Sig 522 is the only semi auto 22lr rifle that will reliably cycle "quiet" type rounds.
