Last I heard, release date sometime in May. I'll be reviewing it when it arrives. I anticipate that it will be similar to the Primary Arms 1-6x Gen 2.

          Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6

Is this thing really out or out soon? Cabelas is showing it as order able. Optics planet says 10-19 days

It's shipping now. Dudes on ARFCOM Optics Forum already have some.
It's essentially the Primary Arms 1-6x Gen 2 except with a different reticle, based on those pics.

Like literally the same scope or they are comparing it to that?

Like literally the same scope, I think. Same weight, length, and extra battery in side cap. When someone posted the reticle pics, I see the same brownish hue as the PA.
So, which reticle do you like more? I think the PA's a little better since it has a center dot as opposed to the line.

They are out. We received our first shipment (small qty) and they sold very quick.

Eh I have a gen 2. It's fine. Not gonna pop for it if it's really the same thing.

I've always heard great things about Vortex warranty too. Not sure how PA is.

                      I have one on order.

Just ordered mine from Optics Planet with a 10-19 day wait. Got it for $296.

I would love a PA 1-6 because I think their reticle is better, but for a more budget optic, warranty is everything to me. Can't beat that vortex warranty.

Really? What < $300 scopes are made in Japan?
I have yet to see a decent Chinese scope.
I have yet to see a crappy (Chinese quality) scope of Japanese manufacture.

Weaver 1-3x ... AWESOME scope and an amazing value.

SWFA 10x42... excellent scope and IMO one of the best options and values for a correctly setup MIL/MIL target scope with a usable reticle, parallax adjustment, and exposed turrets. They have a solid track record for tracking performance and durability.

Both scopes are made in Japan, and are under $300.

                              I'm sure there are others...

And now it's even farther out... on the main page, OpticsPlanet says 2-4 months out. When I ordered it (June 29), it was shown as 16-25 days. Hopefully it ships in 16-25 days. Of course, viewing my order now I see 16-25 days...
