WTF do you plan on doing with it? Just for looks or actually a useable Optic? What's your budget?

The Primary Arms 4-14X44 ACSS has the same style tube mounted illumination knob. Kind of limits mounting options, but gets points for style....

^This. Is this for air soft? Youtube movie props? Taking pictures for internet points?

Or do you actually plan on using this optic on a real firearm? Because if you are, then I'd suggest starting with want you want to do with the firearm, then get the optic that meets those needs the best in your price range.

Usually buying something purely for looks is a major let-down when the reality of owning it kicks in.

I thought my initial post was clear enough but I guess not. Like my post said, I'm looking for decent optic (which I decided to go with leupold) that I can spray paint and not feel like I ruined a top dollar optic such as S&B or nightforce and didn't want something I don't trust like a Barska. Trust me I don't intend on putting paint on my elcan or t1 anytime soon.

We always try to help... But these questions come up all the time and there's no way anyone can help without knowing the basics like price range, intended use, magnification, etc. "Decent" is very subjective and you mention no Elcan and no T1, but those scopes range in price from ~$600-$2000. So I assume your budget is under/around $500??

I'm pretty sure the part that threw most people off was when you mentioned "aesthetically similar to". Everyone's first question was, do you want it for looks for function? Why does the aesthetics part matter?

After I said "decent" i included examples so that should've helped. And yes the s&b is a beautiful optic and id love one to look similar instead of the ugly no name optic my brothers got on his rifle. Luckily I continued my research aside from asking for help and am going with a leupold. My thing is not everyone out here is an airsofter and I don't like to be treated as such.

I guess the issue is that once again you sound like your primary concern is how the optic is going to look. You didn't list any criteria other than looks and "decent."

In fact, you still haven't. Is this a hunting or a target scope? Both are going to have different requirements and features. Do you want the best possible glass in your price range, or are you more concerned about the feature set?

Those are the types of information that someone planning on using a scope usually answers. If it's for airsoft (and it's ok if is) that's a whole different ball game and so it's important to know.

Ok, but what do you want to do with the scope? That's the one thing you never explained when you asked for scope recommendations.

Your original post: You want a scope that looks like an S&B
Your first reply: You want a decent optic that isn't crap like Barska, but the only detail you give about the intended use is to paint it.
                              Second reply: Nothing.
Third reply: Complaining that no one helped you after you didn't bother to respond to any requests for more information about your intended use.

Do you need a 1-6x? A 4-16? a 6-24 maybe? Is this for hunting, casual trips to the range? Competition? 3 gun? Long range shooting? Varmint? What kind of environment are you going to be using it in? Is light gathering ability a concern? Do you prefer mils or moa?

The only actual detail about a scope you're looking for, is that you want illumination and a sun shade. Whoopdeedoo. That still doesn't actually provide anyone with enough information to even begin recommending anything other than possibly a couple of brands.

So yes, when you go out of your way to avoid questions about what you plan on using it for, when you're asking for a recommendation, and insist it's about looks... people are going to assume you want it for airsoft.
