    lights and laser suggestions

looking to add some lights and laser combo to my CZ P01. this is my first gun ever, so looking for some suggestion on which to use.

i'm not familiar with lights, but have seen some that strobe when activated. not sure if all of them do that or not.

also, since P01 is pretty compact, ideally i'd like the lights & laser combo to fit flush to the end of the gun and not have the light stick out.

not sure if something like that is available?

    thanks in advance..

The smallest light/laser combo that I'm aware of is the Viridian C5L. The front of it fits flush on a Glock 19 while other lights would protrude past the barrel.

If you're on a budget, you can check out the Streamlight TLR-4 but the laser is positioned below the light so there's a larger offset from the bore. I prefer the Viridian because the laser is positioned closer to the barrel, which makes holdovers unnecessary.

If you want to go all out and you have money to spend, I think the best option is to get Crimson Trace laser grips for your gun and then buy a separate light of your choice.

I would second a vote for the C5L. It's compact, has a green laser with a light, and about as rugged as that combination can come.

I take it that it'll fit in the 1913 standard rail?

Yes, it will fit a standard picatinny rail. It also comes with different rail adapters to fit different guns such as Glock, XD, etc.

For those of you that have the C5L, did you guys have any issue with it not working after a couple rounds of mags? Just saw a recent review on Amazon where his C5L stopped working after 10 shots or so.

Go big or go home. These are getting some really good reviews, and would be a blast with NOD's. https://tnvc.com/shop/ldi-dbal-pl-class-1-ir-laser/

Are you more likely to brown out your lens with the compact as opposed to a TLR2? Not that it would brown in one gunfight. But has been a concern for some people.

The Crimson Trace Rail Master is a very small compact package that holds zero. For a more budget light laser combo the Streamlight TLR-4. You can get a red laser for @ 100 cheaper vs a green laser and if it's mainly going to be used at home at night it may be a better alternative. Just be aware that in no light conditions a weapons mounted light will wash out night sights and you'll only see a dim out line. A hand held is sometimes preferred since holding it next to your head/eyes will light up standard iron sights very well. Also too much light will temporarily blind you when switching it on and off. I'd your looking for best low/high momentary tactical light look at the Surefire EB1. A half push will give you a 5 lumen light for searching and a full push will give you 200 lumens. When it comes to lights get a K.I.S.S keep it simple stupid.

First off, I will say that that at first use, the C5L is pretty epic. I keep it in the Viridian TacReady holster behind my bed, so when it's drawn both the light and laser come on. Unfortunately, it eats batteries like a Hummer guzzles Gasoline. I was changing out batteries every week before I sent it to Viridian for service.

Now, the battery last longer on a whole, but the laser might not show up if the light is on, and the battery isn't fresh. I may or may not have gotten a defective unit, but I can't imagine being able to rely on it without checking the batteries daily. With that being said.. when the unit works, it's really hard to beat. I brought it to the range to get my girlfriend familiar with it for self defense in the house when I'm not home, and she was crushing it. Laser is very accurate and stays dialed in.

It may not be as compact as the C5L, but check out the Streamlight TLR-2

my friend has the TLR-1 and TLR-3. so will try to fit it when i get my P01.

Update: i just tried it out and both of those light stuck out a lot. met another gun owner at the range that had the viridian C5L and he had experience some times where the light/ laser would stop working after shooting a couple rounds. so back to drawing board...
