If you check out some of the gear under brands like Hensoldt or Vectronix, you'll find yourself in a different league from what NF has to offer.
You are citing $7500 scopes with no track record.

I own a Hensoldt 4-16. I prefer my NF 3-15. While the Henny has slightly better resolution, slightly, the NF is more forgiving. The Henny will show a lot of chromatic abberation unless your eye is oriented a certain way which negates the benefit of the "easier to get behind eyebox". The NF doesn't have this problem. It also has better knobs and better warranty- lifetime in the USA.

I have 6 of the 12-42 Benchrest models and 2 of the 12-42 NXS models and don't have any complaints at all about Nightforce.
I shoot with a couple guys who think the clarity isn't as good as there scopes but when we are side by side and they are complaining I ask them why there scope isn't on 42 power.
Any decent scope on 25 power looks better than a better scope set on 42 power.
When I turn my Night force down to 25 power it looks every bit as good as the others but they can't go any higher.
It is the number one scope in 1000 yard Benchrest for a reason and nothing else is even remotely close.
Mine all have 45 MOA internally and so far I haven't had any problems out to 3000 yards with any of them.
You can buy a variable 150 or 300 MOAB base for $420 delivered and you will only need one scope that way.

I also never lap my rings I prefer to fully bed my scopes. If you lap your rings you are assuming your scope is perfectly straight and they are not in my experience. This means you are putting more stress into the scope. I prefer stress free bedding.
