Sportsmans carries the vx-r patrol in stock. If they are out you can handle mine to get an idea. They carry quite an assortment of scopes on hand.

Well it finally arrived. I really like the optics. I mounted it as far forward as possible but was wondering if anyone thinks it would interfere with the ejection of spent cases. It doesn't seem like it would but firing them is different than manually cycling the action.

It's amazing! .74 MOA at the lowest setting and they weren't kidding. It can be so small it's accuracy while still being illuminated will be interesting. Totally worth it so far

Hate to drag this one up from the archives, but am looking for a scout scope for the same rifle and am wondering if anyone has updates to this thread on the Leupold VX-R on a M1A Scout or Bush Rifle?

Eye relief was just good up to 2x mag. Anything above that and you got a floating reticle.
