    Is the grip pod garbage?

Mixed reviews, but a lot seem to dislike them.

Id like to keep it simple and light. Thinking of the grip pod LE. Anyone using it on a scar 17? How do you like it? Doesn't look like the best grip, or best bipod, but to eliminate weight and keep it simple and multipurpose, not to mention major price difference...Any major drawbacks I should know about?

I use a cheap $20 one my AK.....but I only use it when shooting prone or off a table. It works for my uses.

Well, it looks like I'm already over 8k to my weapon by the time I'm finished without needing an expensive bipod and separate foregrip, plus it saves weight. But I don't want it if it's not durable. This is more of a combat SD weapon, not range plinker.

Indeed they do. Wish I could try one out. I was just hoping to cut weight back and multi item it. It looks crappy both aesthetically and quality, but they show people standing on it...

Some folks like them, some don't.

They are heavier then they look. I had one that broke & the company offered to replacing it at no cost. If you plan on reaching out further then a couple hundred yards, then a Grip Pod or Bipod can come in handy.

First off, how can you possibly put $8000 into an AR? Are you Diamond studding it?

Second, if you're going to spend $8000 on a rifle, why would you but a $20 grip that, as you said yourself, gets mixed reviews. That's like buying a Ferarri and just washing it with water and no soap, then air drying it.

Scar 17 - $3k + Schmidt and Bender glass - $4k + custom work/accessories - $1k? Trying to wrap my head around an AR that costs over $8K. Possible to have a parts break down? I'm intrigued. Cant wait to see some pics!

I think they are a little long....but I do like the ability of the bipod to come out for longer shots. And they are built like tanks.

Lets make sure we're talking about the real American made steel legged ones and not cheapy chinese knock offs of a knock offs we usually see at gun shows for 15-20 bucks.

I think they need a shorter one also. But I own 2 gps02 and I love them. They take a lot of abuse. And very light. Just my 2 cents but I think an atlas will be my next.
