    omega mfg / vector optics

Does anyone know about the quality of this brand? They sell an item that looks exactly like the PA microdot for about 60, and say it is made in the same factory as higher end optics.

I would be weary, looks like a replica of all the other cheap china made red dots, at least PA stuff is reliable in my experience

made in the same factory as higher end optics.
Ah, but is it held to the same quality control standard?

I can use a CNC machine to complete an 80% build, or I can use a hand drill with no jig. Both can be done "in the same shop." Doesn't mean they are the same attention to detail, same construction process, same materials, same design, or same QC process.

The trick with Chinese made stuff is to figure out to what quality of specs you will give them and to what degree you will hold them accountable for quality. I'm guessing for $60, the answer on both of those is pretty low.

Yeah I fully understand the difference, I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the brand. Thanks!

Are they even sold anywhere besides ebay? If even a quick google search doesn't come up with anything, that's a sign to run away.

edit: btw, simply being made in the same factory as "higher end optics" means absolutely nothing. Materials may not be the same, electronics may not be the same, entire sets of components may be different. Then there's the matter of quality control. Additionally, the only optics I've ever seen that look like "Vector Optics" are the same bodies as a lot of cheap chinese airsoft junk.

PA produces solid products that work well on range toys, has an excellent reputation regarding customer service, and most certainly isn't a fly by night operation(they've been around for a while now). Obviously the PA products appear to be knockoffs of Aimpoint stuff, but based on my personal experience with a few of their optics now, I'd have no problem recommending them to someone looking for something to go on a .22, or even a centerfire AR as a range toy(as long as that person is well aware of what they're getting themselves into).

I have been dealing with this retailer, they have extremely good customer service.. nice family run biz. I am getting a couple POSP's for the best price I've ever seen and some other stuff like AK side rail mounts and some tac flashlights. I did my homework and they seem pretty legit. Of course they have some budget stuff, but sometimes u want budget stuff. I'll let u guys know how it turns out, but I think it will be all good. I'm getting some tac flashlights and too... really good prices and they will work with you.

NO!!! For the love of God, do not do business with Vector Optics!!! They sell cheap, and (in my case) faulty products, deceive you about sending replacement parts, and then they will not pay for return shipping after they sent you a product that didn't work, and will not allow you to return the product. In my case, it was an LPK that wouldn't pass a function check. (more info here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=82995 )

These guys are not a stand-up company! Avoid like the plague!!!
