I would love to get an aimpoint one day, but I gotta get a better AR first.
Putting a 600 optic on a 500 AR dosen't seem right to me.

Stretch the budget a bit for a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1. There are 2 models for $299 at Optics planet.

          3-9x40mm http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-...tte-black.html

          1.5-4x20mm http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-...tte-black.html

These scopes use the Mark 4 coatings and are shockingly clear.

Dude you'll be fine...the military puts $1400 dollar acogs on m16s and m4s that with the bulk contract come out to about 1000. Red dots aren't a precision optic so no point of getting one on a high end AR either

Buy the vortex strikefire from PSA for like 120. I personally have never had a problem with their shipping. I just ordered one last week it has already shipped and should be here next week.

I've heard good stuff about the strikefire...did yours come with the mount included? 4 or 2 Moa? Might get one for a potential future budget build

I like Primary Arms... "Primary"ily because they have the appropriate mount to go along with it. Half the battle for newbies in the sight/ scope dilemma is the mounting system. Easy peesy and their customer service is top notch.

Other than that, there are a lot of previously installed optics available in the For Sale section here at Calguns. I got a Bushnell Trophy for $60 and it is one of my favorites. A couple of magnifiers for good prices... I digress.

Good recent post Keep in mind this seller hasn't had much action.

Primaryarms, Opticsplanet, Palmettostatearmory (if you can wait for it), and here on the for sale section are my go to places. Keep in mind, PA has a Calguns discount.

That's who I ordered it from. I think they are 4 moa and come with the mount. I'll put up a picture of mine mounted

Go Primary Arms or save for the Aimpoint. I use both and there's not much in between.

Went with the Primary arms red dot. i know its a tube type but kinda grew on me as i seen more and more of them.

This is the one i got

Primary Arms Advanced Series Red Dot with integrated AR height QD mount

Also on another note got a couple parts in, Forward grip with bi-pod, Drop in Quad rail, and also have 2 20 round P Mags Blocked of with mag block and JB welded shut. Provably going to do the same thing with a couple 30 round mags.

                            Here's a pic.
