        # = pound sign, rather than idiotnewspeak being "hash tag". The rings have a torque spec for the screws, and you need a torque wrench/driver to torque the screws to that spec unless you've got enough experience to be able to get it close by feel. Common torque wrenches for automotive or other "big" things are in foot pounds, you need a torque wrench or driver that is in inch pounds. If the burris pepr didn't come with instructions telling you what the spec is, assuming 18-20 inch pounds is fairly typical for the screws holding the rings together and should be sufficient without running the risk of overtightening anything.

I have a wrench that comes with a mount. I guess it means there is no other advices besides making it tight enough. thanks.

Not tight enough, tight to spec. If you don't have an inch pound torque wrench or driver, you should buy one. Or play guessing games and rely on blue loctite.

It's nothing special, but it gets the job done and should work fine. It sits fairly high, so I'd be surprised if it couldn't clear a 50mm objective.

I called Burris support. They said a torque spec is 18 to 24 pounds for ring screws and 28 to 32 for mount base screws. I will try both to apply spec torque ( and now I need the right wrench) and loctite to secure it.
                      Thanks.

As a former endorser of the German Torquing Standard (ISO 9000-GTS), often referred to as: "Guten Tite"...

...the Wheeler FAT Wrench is your friend...yep sorry, it's about $50, but if you're going to play armorer and outfit your own weapons, it (or another in/lb torque wrench like it) is an essential tool.

If it saves you from over-tightening your ring fasteners=tweaking your scope tube or stripping screws/nuts, it may have just paid for itself...

OP, you will have plenty of clearance with that mount and a 50mm scope.

Above posters are correct, instructions clearly state the ring halves should be torqued down to 20 inch/lb. Never needed locktite.

For the money, its a good mount, never had issues with mine.

I ran the PEPR with my Buckmaster no issues.

It also periodically goes on sale for $35-$40 at a few retailers.

Hell, dvor(opticsplanet's other site) has it for $45 shipped(I think they've got some $10 flatrate shipping thing going on) right now. http://www.dvor.com/wheeler-fat-torq...mpaign=Decfb13

Otherwise if you've got amazon prime, you could get it from them for $49(and probably get it faster)
