I highly recommend the Burris Fast Fire II. Perfect fit for the Mini-14 using the factory weaver rail. Handles the 5.56 and 223 round easily. Good up to 100 yds, possibly more. Small & lightweight. Cost is roughly $200.

        FF2 = 4 MOA and FF3 = 3MOA

The 4 MOA is perfect for what I am using it for, basically 100 yards and in.

(I'm sure there are other differences, so try Google).

Thank you I also found out that the
FF3 has deterrent brightness setting and battrey is on top
The FF3 also comes in 8MOA

I put a Primary Arms on mine with a Weigand mount. Works great and don't plan on changing it to anything else.

I was thinking of using Bushnell
Tr25 or a vortex strikefire before they mentioned the burris

Hi, Here are a couple of ways to go with the Mini-14.

Best way to go with the Fast Fire III, keeps that sight low and in the best position to keep out of the way.---->http://www.gggaz.com/mini-14-rail-wi...dot-scope.html

The Amega Rail is the most flexible. You would mount a Primary Arms Mini-Dot just ahead of the receiver. This keeps the red-dot low and clear of the ejection port.---->http://www.amegaranges.com/product_p...ugerMini14.php

Primary Arms - Best inexpensive micro-dot period. I have a TRS-25 and a Primary Arms MD-06. The MD-06 is hands down better (check reviews on various forums if you don't believe me).---->https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary-...se-p/md-06.htm

The other way to go is to buy 30mm rings for the Mini at Mounts Plus and then mount a red-dot in the rings. I think this takes 30mm rings--->http://www.bushnell.com/hunting/rifl...-multi-reticle

I would NOT mount a rail on top like this ----> http://www.jackweigand.com/ranch.html

If you use the Weigand mount your red-dot will be mounted very high and this will affect your cheek weld.

I have experimented with the GGG option and the 30MM rings option, but I've heard good things about the Amega option as well.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I was in the process of buying this when I found out they want $20 for shipping!

Holy smokes, it's a micro-dot and piece of aluminum from AZ, that's ridiculous!

You can probably find the mount and FFIII at another vendor. Add it up with shipping and see if it's cheaper. Personally, I don't have time to mess around trying to save $10 or $20, but if you do there are a number of vendors.

Midway - the mount is $50

                      Midway FastFire III - $250

Looks to me like quibbling about $20 for shipping won't negate the savings on the bundle at GGG.

So I'd think it through before I called the shipping ridiculous.

I have Burris Fastfire III on a GG&G micro red dot rail. Sits very low and don't need a cheek rest. You can get them as a package for about $260. Good for a 18X24" plate at 400 yds.

The $20 itself is nothing, it's the concept of charging $20 for shipping when for less than a quarter of that it goes in a Priority Mail one rate box.

If I find the parts somewhere that charges me the real shipping and I'll pay $20+ more for the item on principal.

So yeah, to me charging $20 for something that is going to arrive in a $4.85 one rate box is ridiculous. If that's what they need out of the items charge me $270 + actual shipping and I'm good with it.

Before you order the Burris (a nice sight) take a look at the Vortex SPARC. The only downside is the oddball CR2354 battery.
