Vortex HD 1-6 users?

I've got 2 of these on the way, read all the reviews I could find.
But most posts/reviews were alittle old.

Looking for any fresh input.

Super nice scope from what I can see. Super wide FOV, crystal clear glass, high resolution, nearly everything a guy can ask for in a close to midrange scope. Nearly.....

The one complaint is the miculek reticle. It's a 3-gun reticle and comes with no other options as of late. When they come out with some options like they have on the 1-4x24 PST, I daresay it will be the ultimate scope. I kind of hope they will come out with a new reticle in FFP....

What goodlookin posted is also the only complaint Ive heard also. But Its only a con if you didnt want a bdc scope. I am right at home with it because I came from using an acog, and this reticle is very familiar.

Vortex 1-6

I would like to weigh in with my 2 cents worth. I am a new sponsor to Calguns and would offer that the Vortex 1-6 HD is a very nice scope, however, when you get the chance you need to check out the Vixen 1-6 which is one of the clearest and brightest scopes on the market and is a lower price. We offer it Illuminated with both a Duplex or Mil Dot reticle.

I suggest you check them out when you are near a dealer. The quality is outstanding and we also offer the same warranty as Vortex.

If you had $1500 to spend on a 3-gun scope, that Vortex would be the best choice in that price range. It's a little heavy though.

Thanks for the replies. Just got the first one today,wow this scope is outstanding. I had a S&B cqb short dot, and in my humble opinion this scope is on par with the S&B at over $1,000 less.

The glass, fov, and clarity sharpness is out of this world.

I will be mounting this on a KAC SR15 mod 1, for duty/SWAT use.
The red dot is daytime bright in the Florida sun.

The second one will be put on a KAC SR15 IWS.

I just browsed your site... are there any pictures (or diagrams) of the reticles?... and are any of the rifle scopes FFP?

I also have IR models with a German reticle in a couple of specialty hunting models. At present all of my scopes are SFP but we are looking at a long range scope for next year that will be FFP and perhaps MOA/ MOA turrets. I am now accumulating requests to get me a direction on which models to build.

We are small here in the US market and growing but own about 30% of Europe's hunting market. Our main products are high quality telescopes, binoculars and field spotting scopes. We know how to make very bright, clear optics and early or late is where we shine. (sorry for the pun)

I looked at Vixen scopes the other day at BJs in Hemet reminds me of Ncstar or something. As far as your reticles well it seemed like the plain all crosshairs. Not impressed sorry..

I'm debating between the Leupold VX-6 Multigun and the Vortex Razor HD Gen II. I know there's about a $500 difference, but has anyone tried both? The VX-6 seems to be quite a bit lighter and provides a super bright red dot in daylight.

Are you shooting 3-gun with it? The Vortex is a better choice since the reticle has drops for 2.4, 5.6, 9.5 and 14.6 MOA. This comes out to something sane like 300, 400, 500 and 600 yds, with a 200 yd zero and 77gr bullets.
The VX-6 Multigun, for some stupid reason, has their first MIL drop point at -2.5 mils, which comes out to something like 475 yds. Nice going, Leupold.

Thanks for the info. I might take stab at doing 3 gun in the future, but I like the versatility of variable optics in the 1-6x range so I guess a multigun reticle shouldn't matter. Maybe one of the other VX-6 reitcles would be more suitable in that regard?

At least one of the models they sell appears to be what used to be known as the Weaver Classic Extreme 1.5-4.5x24, which is a great scope - made in Japan - but the Weaver can still be found NOS for incredibly good prices. So it's good quality stuff.
