I agree with the above it gets pretty complicated which is why I went cheap and Nikon. I got a milmaster to help-out with the calculations but MIL in the reticule seems better suited to getting a size of an object in the field and a known distance. The Spot-On application from NikonHunting will tell you basically what each dot represents distance wise once you load in bullet type and Sight in range. You're sighted in at 50 yards normal t-mark is 50 yards next MILdot is 250 yards next mildots 349 yards so on and so on. Also as an example only....Average mans chest is 18 inches across 1 mildot = so many inches at so many yards. If it takes this many Mildots to go across his chest you are this far away. As for the knobs their 1/4 inch at 100 yards on my Buckmaster so pretty simple there.

    Sound about right?

On a MOA reticle the hash marks could be in 1/2, 1 or 2 moa increments. And the knob clicks could be in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or 1 moa increments.

On a MIL reticle the hash marks or mildots are generally spaced evenly 1 mil apart, with hash marks at 1/2 mil increments (if it uses hash marks). Some will have both, some only full mil increments. The click value on mil knobs is typically in 1/10 mil increments, with full mil numbers after every 10 1/10 mil marks.

Okay, got it. I should have been more specific in that it is so many clicks per hash mark. Thanks for the advice. I'll go study that thread now.
