Ar-15 optics

Hi, I am looking for a decent set of optics for my ar, it will be a range gun, not for competition, i am looking to spend no more than $150 ,.... I will be mainly using a 50-100 yard range so no need for a scope good for 100+ yards.
Any recomendations (any type of optics good for 50-100yards)Thanks

i have used a red dot, and enjoyed shooting with it . i have never used a magnification sight on an ar15.. im thinking for 100 yards it may need some magnification, although i am a new shooter

You should be good with a red dot up to 100 yrds if your not looking to do any precision shooting....

Recommendations for budget up to $150

- Vortex Strikefire ( PSA just had a sale on it for $119)
- Bushnell TRS-25 with riser ( can be had for ~$90)
- Primary Arms Micro dot style or 30mm comp style ( unfortunately not in stock but usually run $80-$100) depending on model.

If you want to add some magnification in the future you could add a 3x magnifier if you want.

Try the truglo reflex sight its in the 100 range

Look for a used, quality-brand optic on eBay or Gunbroker (or this board).

I second the Bushnell TRS 25. It's a solid red dot for the money. You can still be pretty accurate at a 100 yards with it.

It's $20 over budget but a Weaver V3 1-3x20 is ideal for an AR15. Or you can snag a V10 2-10x38 on sale for $150. Both are good scopes.

I picked up a Simmons 3-9x32 for my Ruger 10/22, but am now using it on my AR. It seemed huge on the 22, but looks right at home on the AR. I haven't taken her out for a drive yet, but soon. Bonus - it was only lke $30 on sale when I got it.

10X bushnell mildots can be had for that price. If it's a carbine and you're just blasting away at cans/rocks whatever a red dot like the Vortex Strikefire would be your best bet though.
